Details
Select reliable, high-quality ingredients to use in your brewing operation like this Briess pale ale malt. This versatile product is a suitable base malt for brewing ales of all kinds, as well as any style that benefits from a rich, malty character. This malt is made with high-quality North American 2-row malting barley that's carefully selected, germinated, and kilned to create a consistent product with a rich, malty flavor with notes of bread, graham cracker, nuts, and honey. Plus, it adds a golden color to your finished beers for a pleasant appearance. It can be used as up to 100% of the base malt for ales of all kinds, with the exception of Kolsches. You can also use this pale ale malt as up to 10% of your mash bill when brewing other styles to add malty flavor, or between 10-15% in high- and low-gravity beers, using a higher percentage for low-gravity styles.
This malt has 4% moisture and an 80% yield on grind. It has a diastatic power of 85 degrees Lintner, making it suitable for converting starch into sugar during the mashing process. This malt is not caramelized or roasted and yields an SRM of 3.5, so it's ideal for brewing beer with light golden hues. It's perfect for use in commercial breweries and is available in a 50 lb. bulk bag to keep your operation well-stocked! To preserve this product's freshness and ensure the best flavor, it's recommended to store your malt in a low-humidity environment at temperatures under 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
