So, you never buy expensive / bring in with you expensive gear unless it will never leave your sight (rare). There are a multitude of chef knives in this price range, but the DR 12443 is among the best I have ever used. Here are the reasons why: A) The blade holds its edge for an extended period. Our cooks put a lot of wear and tear on knives. Over the years we've found the Dexter-Russell knives, at this price point, are the most durable and retain their edge longer than the rest. We are systematically replacing our our knives with them.

L~ Wanted a quality knife, on the lighter side, for light duty use at the bakery I worked at. This knife fit that bill perfectly. I also wanted the knife to standout for safety reasons and the bright yellow handle fit that bill perfectly as well. I liked this knife so much that I purchased 3 others in this series.

This product feels good in the hand and is easy to work with. Well we wanted this item very bad. When people are sick at home and they need their food delivered this was our choice tool used to prepare with.

This purple handled sani safe knife is a great knife. I've had it for a couple years now and it is very easy to sharpen and keep track of.

This knife had all the qualities I was looking for in a knife and for an excellent price. The blade was very sharp and I loved how the knife didn't wobble while using it. The green colored handle was ideal for color coding. The only issue I ever had with this knife was that my hands were slightly wet while using it and the knife slipped out of my hand causing me to cut myself, luckily not too badly.
