This knife was purchased alongside some other styles of oyster knives to be used to open and eat oysters family style. I found that I preferred this one due to the leverage gained by the slight 'beak' at the tip of the knife. Only the tiniest and daintiest oysters could be an issue and may require a slimmer knife.

Terrible knife. Spend a few more dollars for a different brand. The tip is SO thick it is almost impossible to get into the hinge unless you are using some giant ousters. For the oysters her in MA you might as well try to use the handle side to open it.
