Also included in this kit are (2) 4" deep 1/2 size stainless steel hotel pans with an anti-jam design. Accompanying each of these pans is a pan cover designed to keep the contents of the pans warm and to help retain moisture so the food does not dry out. Each cover has a contemporary black handle, making removal simple without the potential for burns.

No, this food warmer is designed only to maintain the temperature of food that has been pre-heated to a safe temperature.
Level 1 = 90 degrees Fahrenheit
Level 2 = 105 degrees Fahrenheit
Level 3 = 117 degrees Fahrenheit
Level 4 = 147 degrees Fahrenheit
Level 5 = 177 degrees Fahrenheit
Level 6 = 205 degrees Fahrenheit
The red light indicates that the unit has power (it lights up when plugged in), not that it is heating.
Warmers are designed to hold food that has already been heated to the appropriate serving temperature of 150 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. Rethermalizers, on the other hand, reheat chilled foods through the HACCP "danger zone" to a safe serving temperature within a controlled timeframe. To meet industry acceptance criteria, rethermalizers must be capable of heating contents from 40-165 degrees Fahrenheit within 120 minutes and maintaining a temperature of 150 degrees Fahrenheit or higher.
This food warmer is compatible with full size and fractional size food pans (sold separately). Please note that fit may vary by brand, and some gaps could be present depending on the pan used.
