Hi, I'm David Sebastianelli, Vice President of sales and marketing with the Edlund Company. Today I want to introduce you to Edlund's new ARC fruit and vegetable slicer. Now there are a lot of manual slicers that can either do hard products or soft products, but you'll see today that the ARC's unique patent pending design allows it to do all types of produce with the same machine. So that'll save time, space, and money for the operator.
So let's give it a try. Let's start out with some hard products like a potato. A potato can be easily loaded. Your fingers, your hands do not have to come in contact with any razor blades or anything sharp, and you can see that the ARC cuts right through the potato easily. You'll also notice that the design of the ARC can accommodate up to a four-inch deep pan. Now let's move on to another product that's been traditionally difficult to slice, an onion. And you can see the ARC does an excellent job on onions also. So we know it can do hard products. What about soft products? No machine can do hard or soft products on the manual side. Let's take a tomato and see how it does with the tomato. Very easy and easily slices through the tomato. You could imagine the labor savings, the time, and the efficiency. And also you can see that it produces a very nice product.
Features and benefits. So other than the unique patent-pending design that allows this machine to cut both hard and soft produce, what other unique properties are associated with this product? Well, the ARC is designed to accommodate up to a four-inch deep pan. It's fitted with four extra heavy-duty suction cups, which keep it in place securely during operation. It's completely stainless steel. This can be put in a flight-type dish machine. It can be put in a pot sink, or it could be sprayed and hosed down. There are three different cartridge and blade sizes available, 3/8", 3/16", and 1/4". Even the blade cartridge can be taken out and cleaned, and run through a dishwasher. But of course, we want you to be safe. So Edlund provides a wash guard that fits over the top of the blades. It has a captured thumbscrew, and after a couple of twists, the blade cartridge can easily be removed, then put in a dish machine. Of course, that's not the sharp side. This product is innovation redefined. This product was designed, developed, and manufactured at Edlund's offices and factory in Burlington, Vermont.
