When deciding on the gas steam table that's right for you, it's important to examine all of your options. And remember, steam tables are designed to keep your food warm; they're not a means to cook your food. First, look at your menu to decide which well type is best for you: if you have crispy options like fried chicken or french fries, then you'll want the flexibility that an open well unit provides. Open wells have exposed flames that require the use of spillage pans for moist heating, but they also allow you to take advantage of dry heat holding by simply not using the pans. Sealed wells on the other hand, are only good for moist heat holding, but they offer the added advantage of being easy to clean. These units don't use spillage pans, so you add water directly to the well from a connected water source. They also have drains that allow you to empty the water effortlessly when you're finished. Gas steam tables are designed to be configured for either natural gas hookups or liquid propane tanks, so make that decision before you buy. Substandard Manufacturing and Poor Quality Control. I wouldn't buy Eagle Group products again. Packaging was very good and there is no way steam table was damaged in shipping. When it arrived a gas tube was bent causing the valve to be misaligned. One of the legs does not properly attach. The threaded hole for the set screw has threads that are damaged. It is oversized due to the incorrect tapping and the set screw will not grab the threads. The attachment of the cutting board to the shelf is very poorly designed. The holes in the cutting board are so large compared to the nut that as it is used the cutting board slides around. All of these defects are indicative to poor quality manufacturing and lack of adequate quality control.

A very nice unit for the money. Easy to light pilot and the control knobs are very easy to turn and read. The shelf on the bottom is a nice feature for extra storage.
