Waring WSB55 Big Stik 14" Variable Speed Immersion Blender - 1 HP

Bought this variable speed mixer to mix sauces and make mashed potatoes. It's a good size for me but a little heavy for some of my staff. Variable speed is great for mixing sauces and blending creams, but it's a bit under powered when attached to the Waring WSB2W 10" Whisk. I have to run at full power to mash 15kg of potatoes, and it feels noticeably over-worked at this quantity. I'd say this is it's limit. But for soups and sauces, even thick BBQ sauce, it's perfect. Compared to more expensive brands I've demoed, this model is a great buy. If I were to buy again, I'd get a larger one only to whisk larger pots of mashed potatoes.

This was one of the best purchases I ever made for my soap making company. We used it for making 25# cold process soap batches, shampoo and hair conditioner. It is powerful and reliable. We'd set it up in a 5-gal stainless steel pot and let it run until that lye to oil contact was going good. It turned a several hour process into about 5 minutes. Hair conditioner required some cooling down time so we'd run it for 30 minutes or so to mix while it cooled, then off and on. It is a little difficult at first to figure out how to turn it on. There is a button you push and seems like there is some magic combination to get it going. After you figure that out it works great. You won't be able to live without it.

This is our third immersion blender in 19 years and is by far our favorite. Easy to use for our sauces and dressings; easy to store and easy to clean. It's very sturdy

Dissapointing. In use for 6 months for blending salsas and it sounds like a gas engine running out of gas. Started with plenty of power but now strugles to keep from dying.

I have had this item for years now. The quality is very good and I would definitely buy it again. The blender has a nice double on safety feature as well as an easy dial adjustment.

Excellent quality immersion blender! Perfect for making emulsions like mayonnaise and salad dressings. It's also easy to clean! I would recommend one of these for every kitchen!

This Waring immersion blender is great. It is very heavy duty and the length allows me to use it in very large pots. The stick comes off the motor with ease so that it can be washed.

This is a beast of a immersion blender that really tackles the job. I used it to mash 80lb of potatoes for a thanksgiving feast. It made the job so much easiers and the potatoes were nice an creamy. It was a bit bigger than expected.

This thing is a workhorse, we use it to mix our gelato and sorbeto ingredients and has never let us down and is easy to clean

Before we nought this machine it would take us triple the amount of time to blend anything with our small blende. This was a great improvement to the kitchen. It is time efficient and more convenient. Upgrade now!

This thing is a beast! It tears right into chunky soups and pulverizes onions and carrots in to silky soups. It is an exceptional piece of equipment.

I have had this item for about a month. I have had this same item in different lengths in many of my jobs. The quality is very good and I would definitely buy it again.

This is a very powerful blender that has served us well for a couple years with daily use. It did become finicky a couple weeks ago and the power dial started to become erratic but has since corrected itself. the cord is entirely too long in my opinion but I guess useful for someone needing to plug in at a far distance. Overall well worth the price!

I bought this item to mix salad dressings. The payroll saved by using an immersion blender versus a wire whisk definitely pays for the product very quickly. It made me wonder why I did not purchase it earlier.

The Waring 14" Big Stick immersion blender works great. Plenty of power and operates very smoothly. The 14" shaft is long enough to reach down in the large stock pots.

Excellent quality immersion blender. We use it daily in our cafe. Very heavy duty, without being too weighty. A must have for any cafe or restaurant!

We don't know what we would do without the "Big Stik". We use it weekly for preparing soups and would highly recommend it. The blade goes through whole pieces of roasted squash - no need to cube anymore.

Prefer thses sticks over the robo coupes. They are easier to operate and are as if not more reliable. This size is great for soups.

This blender is large but easy to handle! Makes it easy to blend up freshly simmered vegetables for a smooth soup! Great for blending tomatoes too!!!

An outstanding workhorse in our kitchen. The Chef had been asking for one for a while but I resisted - definitely has proven it's value!
