We use this pad for holding pans with no lids that are too hot to touch. We also use it to transfer cookies, pies etc. Which are fresh out of oven. We also use it to open steel containers otherwise they get our fingerprints all over. We also use it to hold any steel container for sanitary purposes. We are using it as trivet to put hot soup or hot food containers to protect surfaces.
