Seems to be a functional unit after 2 months no real problems, however... it is loud, like a low end dish washer, and since it appears to have minimal insulation for the ice compartment, the ice melts relatively quickly requiring it to be on often. Additionally, to access the on/off switch (I turn it off when I leave for the weekend) you have to unscrew the front panel, seems a little silly to me. On a positive note, it easily produces enough ice for a family of five and has a huge bin for enough extra ice for when my wife throws parties on the weekend (20-30 people four to six hours).

Build quality is beyond poor. I've had to pay a service tech come out at least once a year since it's been installed. Water filters have been changed regularly, doesn't see heavy usage. Scotsman warranty is a joke; they won't cover ANYTHING and now it appears to be leaking refrigerant. Absolute garbage for a 3yr old machine. Incredibly disappointed.

The ice machine has worked perfectly for six months, since I have purchased it. I use it mostly to provide ice for ice buckets in rooms. With ten rooms, we have not run out of ice, even during the hot summer months. The ice does come out in approximately 4"x4" sheets, but it easily breaks apart. The machine is a bit noisy, as I have it in the kitchen. The water filling process is noisier than the ice dropping down.
