What is the Scholarship?
The WebstaurantStore Diversity Scholarship is a $5,000 GRANT created to encourage diversity in the field of hospitality and reward talented students from minority ethnic groups who possess a passion for the culinary arts. With this scholarship, our goal is to open doors and provide support to traditionally underrepresented communities in the foodservice industry. By encouraging the growth and development of students from diverse minority racial groups, we hope to empower them to achieve excellence in their chosen career.

Who is Eligible?
This scholarship is open to students who are members of the following minority ethnic groups - American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino or Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander. Eligibility is dependent on current or future enrollment in a Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management program (including Culinary Schools). This includes high school seniors, GED students, and non-traditional learning students who plan to enroll in similar programs at the start of the next year. To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must also have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher or 2 years of work experience in the restaurant or hospitality industries.

How to Apply?
Start the application process now by filling out the form below. Include your name, email address, and phone number. Provide the name of your current or future hospitality school and major. Help us get to know you better with a short bio and your favorite professional photo (.jpeg or .png format). Finally, attach a 500-word essay attachment (in .doc, .docx, or .pdf format) that describes how you became interested in a Culinary Arts or Hospitality career and what you hope to bring to the industry.
Scholarship Application
Terms and Conditions
- Must be American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino or Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander.
- Must be enrolled full-time or part-time, or plan to be enrolled, in a college or culinary arts school.
- Must be majoring in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a closely related field.
- Must possess a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher or 2 years of work experience in the restaurant / hospitality industry.
- Application essay should be no longer than 500 words, and it should be submitted as a .doc, .docx, or .pdf file.
- All submissions will be reviewed before a winner is chosen, only one applicant will be selected as the winner.
- The winner will be contacted within 60 days of the application deadline, and their name will be posted on the scholarship page.
- The winner will receive a one-time grant of $5,000.
- This scholarship is only offered to U.S. Citizens.
- Applications are due by June 15th and December 1st of the current year.
- Scholarship applicant must submit a professional photograph and short bio.
- Scholarship applicant must submit a signed FERPA Consent Form.
- The winner will be required to execute a publicity release, prior to the payment of the grant, permitting the use of the winner’s photo and biographical information in marketing and advertisement materials in relation to the award of the scholarship.
- Failure to satisfy any of the terms listed above will result in the elimination of the application and withdrawal of any awarded grants.

By submitting an application, the applicant automatically grants WebstaurantStore, and/or its representatives, permission to post the applicant's name, school or university, photo, and essay on WebstaurantStore.com or in other marketing communications in the event he or she is awarded the scholarship. You also grant permission to WebstaurantStore to email, call, or send you information regarding your application.
