looks great but very weak magnet. I had it installed in my office to display my Japanese knives (it could only handle 3 knives) since they are so light. It will not work for my heavier German and Swiss made knives. I would not buy it again.

Well, these are inexpensive, so that is a plus. We ordered two, and regret it. The internal magnets are super powerful directly over each one, but there is little to no attractive force between each magnet; this renders these essentially pretty wimpy, limited and annoying in that our knives cannot just be placed anywhere along the face, but only over the little magnets. Even then, there is too little force, and we ended up placing the two strips together, one just above the other... and thus, our knives are supported by the simultaneous effort of twin strips. Also, one strip was assembled fairly poorly, with bamboo misaligned. Next time, we will try to buy better manufactured strips.

This looks so nice and expensive. We no longer use it for knives because we needed to have the blades covered. It is beautiful to use as a regular magnet strip for notes.
Great quality magnetic knife holder! The bamboo finish looks amazing and complements my kitchen cabinets perfectly - I enjoy it more than similar steel magnetic holders. Furthermore, since it's wood, you don't have to worry about your knives getting damaged when rubbing against another metal. The magnetic is strong and can hold several large knifes. The width (18") is ideal for moderately sized areas like above the sink. Installation is very easy, as there are two screws that are provided that you can hang the holder off of. Definitely recommend.
