This knife was purchased to replace a cheaper set of steak knives that were getting dull and showing their wear. Unfortunately, this knife was not an improvement. If you only need to cut steak, you should be fine, but cutting most other foods is a chore. When you cut chicken, it shreds, if you try to cut a tomato, it skids sideways. These knives aren't particularly sharp either. They look nice, feel great in the hand, probably won't hurt anyone because they're just not very sharp, but are likely to leave you wanting for something better. We purchased 48 of these, and now we'll probably donate them to a soup kitchen.
