Rugged Construction
You need a durable unit to move product from place to place, and this model comes prepared for the task with a rugged reinforced steel cabinet construction, powder-coated door hinges that resist corrosion, and a reinforced compressor unit that prevents damage from vibration. The exterior features a high-gloss primer / top coat that looks great and provides an additional layer of protection against humidity, corrosion, and other weather conditions.
Superior Insulation
This freezer transport boasts 3" thick CFC-free polyurethane insulation and balloon gaskets on the door to lock in cold air, retain the desired temperature, and keep operation costs low. The temperature is adjusted via a control on the inside of the unit, and you can monitor it with a dial thermometer on the exterior.
25" x 57" Opening
The door opening on this transport measures 25" wide x 57" high, large enough for you to comfortably load and unload product with ease. A rain guard keeps the elements out of your unit.
Embossed Galvanized Interior
The interior of this unit is 140 cu. ft. and features a stucco-embossed galvanized steel liner that looks great and holds up to hard use. For added safety, it includes an inside door release.
Labor-Saving Auto Defrost System
This transport uses an auto defrost refrigeration system with R-404A refrigerant. Compared to a coil plate unit, it trades a little bit of interior capacity for the convenience of not having to shut the unit down and clean it out during defrost cycles. Condensation is continually removed before it can freeze, and better airflow means it will recover faster from open doors, too. A 20' power cord is included, and it requires a 115V, 20 amp connection.

Take a tour inside and out of Leer's outstanding refrigerated transports, designed with the highest standards of quality and design to completely withstand the elements while you transport ice and other refrigerated or frozen goods in style.
In this video, I'll be going over Leer's line of refrigerated transport units. I'll explain the different configurations, break down the construction, and point out some of the featured benefits. Our standard lineup of our standard transports are available in 8 different configurations.
Starting with 3 different temperature settings ranging from 0 degrees Fahrenheit for the freezer transport, 16 degrees for the ice transport, and 38 degrees for the cooler transport. The ice transports are available in cold plate and auto defrost, whereas the cooler and freezer transports are available in auto defrost only. And lastly, two different sizes: the 4' x 8' which is 140 cu. ft., measuring 48" wide, 96" deep, and 71" tall. If you're transporting ice, that can hold around 300 10 lb. bags. And the 5' x 9' which is 220 cu. ft., measuring 56" wide, 108" deep, and 83" tall, specifically designed to hold full, standard pallets, whether that's ice or something else. For ice, that's approximately 400 10 lb. bags, therefore making our transports ideal for the transportation or temporary storage of ice, frozen foods, perishables, beverages, and much more.
It is important to note that they are manufactured to be either a cooler, freezer, or ice transport. A single unit will not be able to operate in all 3 conditions. The transports feature a steel construction with reinforcement in the frame to ensure durability and stability while travelling down the road.
There's a steel inner liner and a steel outer shell. The outer shell has an exterior white, high-gloss finish that has been specifically created for outdoor use for full resistance against weather elements. And between the 2 layers is a CFC-free, foamed-in-place polyurethane insulation. the 4' x 8' has 3" of foam in the walls, ceiling, and floor. The 5' x 9' has 3" in foam in the walls and ceiling, and 4" of foam in the floor. The thick insulation ensures a high R-value, or in other words, reduces heat transfer into the unit, keeping your goods at the proper temperature.
Working our way around the transport, the doors are 3" thick, steel, and inset. The 4' x 8' features a single 25" wide x 57" tall door with magnetic gaskets, whereas the 5' x 9' features 2 doors with an entryway that's 45" wide x 74" tall with balloon gaskets. That's wide enough to accommodate a standard pallet. Both sizes contain heavy-duty, powder-coated hinges and stainless steel locking door handles, with an interior emergency release handle. Above the doors are rain shields to divert water away from entering the unit.
Moving around to the front, the compressor and the housing for it are reinforced for protection during travel. The compressor itself varies based on your selection of size, temperature, and refrigeration package. All compressors do come with a 20' power cord, and utilize 115V, single phase, 20 amp outlets.
On all configurations, there will be a dial thermometer located near the compressor. To control the compressor, the mechanical control is located on the front interior of the unit. The interior of the unit also features a stucco-embossed galvanized steel finish. On the 4' x 8', there's a wood duck board floor overlay, and on the 5' x 9', a 14-gauge reinforced steel floor to support the weight of 2 full pallets rolling in and out of the unit. There is also a light and light switch. Lastly, on the 5' x 9' only, it comes standard with diamond-tread kick plates on the interior door. There are also skid rails and a pallet stop. It's important to note, the trailer is not included, but the unit does have structural mounting locations, should you wish to mount a trailer at a later time.
