Perfect for diners, cafes, hotels, and other businesses with a high output of toast, this conveyor toaster can produce up to 300 bread slices per hour. This means that it's sure to keep pace, even during your busiest breakfast rush!
This toaster relies on conveyor speed to regulate the color and texture of the finished product, making it simple to adjust during operation to produce lighter or darker toast. This allows you to best cater to your customers, serving each of them their bread just how they like it!
For simple operation, the three controls are featured on the front of the unit and are clearly labeled to direct use. Plus, a mechanical thermostat allows independent control of top and bottom heat for added versatility. Two flip switches operate the top and bottom, respectively.
To support its conveyor design, the unit features an easy-to-load rack with front or rear discharge, as well as a toast collector chute for finished toast. Operation requires 1800W.
With an opening 2" high, the toaster accepts a variety of bread types, from slices to buns.
Insulation and an interior fan serve to keep the unit's exterior safely cool to the touch.
Learn how to quickly and easily set up, clean, and properly maintain your new Hatco TQ-10 Toaster.
TQ-10 Features & Cleaning Procedures
Hi, Dan Frigo with the Hatco Corporation here today to talk to you about our award-winning TQ-10 toaster. This will be a demonstration video to talk to you about how to set up, clean, and properly maintain the toaster for its best use.
This video is not meant to replace the information found in the owner's manual. Instead, it will be a quick visual overview to get you started, providing a few tips to get the best performance from your new toaster.
Power Requirements:
Before we begin, please make sure the outlet you're going to use is the proper voltage and that the amp draw won't trip any GFCIs or breakers. The TQ-10 provides 1800 watts of toasting power, which at 120V will use all of the space on a 15 amp circuit. Make sure it's plugged into a separate circuit to prevent any overloads and breakers from tripping.
Toast Discharge Chute:
Take the chute and look for the end that has the curled lip on it. That lip will go up and high in the back wall of the toaster. Catch on the two pins on the inside of the toaster. If you're seeing toast get stuck in the back of the toaster, you may not have the chute flush with the back wall, and over the top of those two pins. The end of the chute with the product stop should rest on the counter beneath the toaster.
Controls:
Plug the unit into its very own 15 amp circuit and turn both top heat and bottom heat rocker switches on. You'll want to let this toaster preheat for about 20 minutes to get the most consistent results.
Wire Feed Rack:
You may set the wire feed rack in the upper position for manual feed, or the lower position will allow you to place two orders of toast at the same time.
Operating the TQ-10:
The TQ-10 features very simple controls, with toast color being controlled by the conveyor speed adjustment. This toaster allows for selecting double-sided toasting by activating both rocker switches, or single-sided toasting by activating just the top or bottom rocker switches independent of each other. If you want single-sided toasting with very even toast color for bagels or English muffins, turn on the top element and toast your product cut-side up. If you wish to add some conveyor marks to, say, a hamburger bun, you might wish to activate the lower elements only and toast cut-side down. To do traditional, double-sided toast, activate both rocker switches.
Cleaning:
There is a crumb tray just beneath the conveyor. At the beginning of the day when the toaster is cool, you'll want to remove that tray by pulling it directly out, and wipe it down. Make sure you put it back before operating the toaster. You might want to wipe it down every day before you start the toaster.
Removing Carbon Build-Up:
If you're using very moist bread, you might be seeing some carbon build-up on the conveyor. To keep that conveyor clean, get yourself a small wire brush from the hardware store, and at startup, during the conveyor's first several passes, brush that carbon off. Small bits will fall into the crumb tray, where you can remove them easily right after. Also, keep your eye on that reflector beneath the lower elements. That reflector is slotted to encourage crumbs to fall through it, though you might wish to brush any built-up crumbs out of it every few months. The other thing to keep clean is the air intake, and that's located above the toast delivery chute. While the toaster is off and unplugged, take a brush or vacuum and clean that air intake. You want your toaster breathing freely, so you'll want to do this every other week or so and make sure that the fan does not get blocked with anything. Since this toaster lacks adjustable heat, you can really help yourself by using a drier bread product, or a day-old bread product even better. It honestly makes better toast. If the toaster overheats, unplug it, check the circuit breaker and any GFCIs, clean the fan intake area, then plug it back in.
Exterior Cleaning:
Wipe the toaster down with a soft cloth and mild detergent, and avoid any abrasive cleaners or scrubbies on the powder-coated top.

We had heard great things about this toaster however if we are not careful the hoagie rolls tend to get stuck when the conveyer belt turns the corner in the back and the break is very hard to get out.

I owned and used one of the exact model for over 10 years and only had to replace The chain motor once. (Which was easy to do) I decided to purchase a new one after an element burned out and figured I'll keep the other TQ-10 for parts... when needed in the distant future.
