I am looking for a mixer for my bakery. Would this be a good option?
This mixer is an excellent value for the price and is perfect for standard-duty applications. Due to the heavy usage required of a bakery mixer, we recommend choosing a more durable option specifically made for the challenge of heavy use. This mixer can also be used to make the occasional small batch of pizza dough. However, it should function on low speed to prevent burning out the motor. Please refer to the manufacturer literature for more detailed information about what each specific model can handle, and if you don't see the food you wish to mix, look for closest comparable food in texture.
Mixers shipped from the factory after 10/1/2016 will have a 2 year labor warranty; mixers shipped prior to that date will have a 1 year labor warranty.

Mine was 3 to 4 years old when I got it in 2004. Averages 6 - 8 batches of dough per day, every day (baguettes, bagels, pizza dough, ciabatta bread etc). In that time I have replaced the low speed clutch twice and the main shaft once. It even fell off the counter once onto a concrete floor while mixing - all that broke was the gear change handle but that is an easy replacement. No idea how many more years it will last but when it does finally die, it will definitely be replaced with the same make and model.

We've made 20# of bread dough in this every day for years and it hasn't shown any signs of slowing down. The only complaint is that the paddle doesn't get super close to the side of the bowl, so cookies and cakes require a lot of scraping. But for bread, excellent.

It's a good product. I don't like new controls. The older models, you could bump the mixer to incorporate product so it doesn't fly everywhere.
