This cheese slicer is a very high quality kitchen item here. I have used it to slice even some of the harder, long aged Cheddar Cheeses, as well as softer Cheese and it makes it's way thru them with no problem at all. The key is, don't force it, go slow, if you got a hard cheese, just keep constant pressure on it and it will make it's way thru with minimal ripping and tearing. Washing is a breeze, throw it into the sink, do what you need then plop it on the counter for a half hour to dry and it's good as new.
