Galaxy GRI-20-FW 30 1/2" White Solid Door Light-Duty Reach-In Freezer

I purchased the Galaxy model GRI-20-FW just over a year ago and now it's failed. It worked great up until it failed. Once failed no warning and all the products inside spoiled along with a massive mess. The unit creates an overload on the circuit and pops the breaker. In my opinion this item is poorly manufactured and will not last long. My old freezer lasted 28 years, the Galaxy lasted 1 year, just past the warranty. Very disappointed. Web restaurant will not offer any assistance. This is Webrestaurants own product, and its design and quality are exceptionally poor. Buyer beware of this product.

Cools down quickly and keeps up on busy days. My only issue is the vacuum it creates when closing the door makes impossible to open it again for about a minute so don't close it until you put your stuff back in!

I have had this replaced once already. It lasted just shy a year before it stopped cooling. Got the replacement and it has been about 6 months and this one just stopped working too! Just stopped cooling and the fan won't work. I am told the warranty is only good for one year following the original purchase. So, they replaced a bad freezer with a bad freezer and I'm stuck with it now. Do NOT buy this freezer.

The Freezer itself is working. The design of it is not bad. The plastic door hinges at the top and bottom are a true crime in commercial AND home refrigeration design. It's a safety hazard, and the door nearly knocked an employee unconscious when the bottom hinge gave way. Here's the even worse parts (pun not intended): Webstaurant is unable to provide replacement parts. In fact no one can! If they're going to private label this crap, at least use some off the shelf door hinges that are readily available. We manufactured a welded Steel replacement hinge that will likely outlast the freezer itself.

Stay far away! First few months, the defrost drain tube heater melted through the drain tube. No parts available however we were able to "make it work". At around 18 months the temperature sensor probe failed and again, no parts available! Done with the Galaxy's!

Just the right size! Coming in at just shy of 74" tall, it is the perfect height for my box truck food truck. The front temperature display makes it really convenient. The door lock is great for a mobile food truck - I also like that there is a strong vacuum on the door. The interior lights are great for keeping things well illuminated. The bad: the door lock is a little flimsy - if you for whatever reason turned it to lock when the door is opened, the locking bit will get bent when you try to close the door on it. My freezer came on a broken pallet stacked on another pallet - it leaning up against the inside of the container box. I had to help the delivery guy so it wouldn't fall over.

This is a hybrid freezer that is worthless!!!! Pure uselessness, we purchased it because of the price point and we paid dearly for it not to work from the very start. It was reading ambient temperature when plugged in and NEVER cooled or froze! Called and emailed Webstaurant and they forward us the manual like we don’t know it’s a defect and not customer hallucination. We called a commercial restaurant service company only to be told it’s a hybrid that they don’t work on and it’s meant for your garage and not a restaurant setting. Called a home appliance repair to look at it and they say it’s a bad temperature probe…meaning the people who assembled it were ready for the weekend and just threw it in there. I’m waiting to see what our final resolution with Webstaurant will be….meanwhile STAY AWAY FROM THIS FREEZER AT ALL COST.

DO NOT BUY, SPEND MORE MONEY , THIS UNIT FAILS JUST AS THE OTHER UNHAPPY REVIEWS NOTED ON THIS SITE. Had it since 2021, worked fantastic from August 2021 until earlier last year 2024. Started noticing frozen ice drips in back of unit just under the fan. THEN a mountain of ice pack which I kept cleaning out and thought "Well heck maybe I packed it too full, leave good airflow top rack. THEN December 23, 2024 it was tripping my GFI in garage. Replaced the GFI with more industrial unit still tripping breaker every 1-3 hours. ALL appliance repair companies Middle TN said "Nah we do not service that brand its a private brand we do not touch it" meaning they KNOW its useless after warranty. The fact I had nearly 2.5 years of solid service sounds like a miracle. It's in it's death throws now. Always kept it clean, its in near perfect condition but about to become a nice door stop. SAD
