Details

Add rich umami flavor to your gourmet soups, sauces, and stir fries with these dried oyster mushrooms! Oyster mushrooms feature a light earthy and woody flavor that's reminiscent of its sea dwelling namesake and a delicate texture that allows you to use them in dishes without rehydrating them first. In spite of their depth of flavor, oyster mushrooms have a mild taste, so they're best prepared in simple dishes where their exciting taste can take center stage. Best of all, these dried oyster mushrooms have a richer, more concentrated flavor than fresh oyster mushrooms, bringing a burst of umami richness to any recipe they're used in. Plus, when stored in an airtight container or under refrigeration, these mushrooms can keep for months or even years, unlike fresh oyster mushrooms, which spoil quickly.

If you are rehydrating these dried oyster mushrooms, gently rinse them with tap water to remove any impurities, then add them to a bowl and cover them with warm water. Allow the mushrooms to rehydrate in the warm water until they are soft and springy, approximately 20 minutes. Once they are fully rehydrated, give these mushrooms a squeeze to remove the excess water, then use as desired! You can also use these mushrooms dry and add them in towards the end of the cooking process. These mushrooms are dried whole, allowing you the versatility to use them whole or slice them as desired. They make a great addition to simple recipes, especially ones without a lot of overpowering flavors. Saute these mushrooms in a few tablespoons of butter with some fresh thyme to create a delicious side dish or topping, or use them to create a rich oyster mushroom cream sauce perfect for flavoring poultry or fish. Use them to create delicious stir fries or in a braising liquid for juicy chicken breasts! No matter how you choose to use them, these whole dried oyster mushrooms are sure to become a staple in your kitchen! This bulk 1 lb. supply will ensure that your busy establishment remains well stocked with delicious mushrooms.

A hair over a quarter of the bag was stems, which if you know about shiitake stems you know they're woody and inedible. Something to consider when pricing these here and on other sites.

Thank you for the review! We’re sorry these mushrooms are not working for your needs. We suggest trying these Dried Whole Shiitake Mushrooms instead.

Absolute junk, these must be 10 years old. No Flavor, did not rehydrate to tender. Waste of $. They are grown and dried in China.

Has a funky smell when you open it for the first time. After boiling it and adding the sauce it no longer had a smell and tasted normal. Most pieces were whole but there were some crumbs.
