How to Replace the Blades in Carnival Sno-Cone Machines
Watch how to replace the sno-cone blades on your Carnival King Sno-Cone Maker so you can continue making the perfect cone every time.
Serve a summertime favorite with Carnival King Sno Cone Ice Machines. First, turn off the power switch and unplug the unit. To replace or adjust the blades, you will first remove the cutting head. Please note to use caution with the sharp blades. In some cases, you may have to remove the motor cover to access the cutting head. Then, remove the pusher by using a crescent wrench or rachet. Next, rotate the cutting head until the setscrew is accessible through the discharge opening. This is located inside the top panel of the tub frame. Next, use a one-eighth-inch hex wrench to loosen the set screws. Note that the size of the hex wrench may vary and that you may have to use a different screwdriver. Carefully slide the cutting head off the motor shaft. Finally, remove the cutting head by reaching into the horn and carefully sliding it out of the horn. Remove the two screws per blade. Lift the old blades out. Position the new blades on the head with the cutting edge extending between one thirty seconds of an inch to one-sixteenth of an inch out from the cutting head surface. This setting will determine the size of the ice. The more blade that is exposed beyond the head will create a coarser ice chip. Note that if the blade sits too flush with the head, the unit will not shave any ice. Use the blade screws to secure the blades to the head. Next, slide the cutting head down into the ice horn with the coupler end. As the cutting head is slipped onto the motor shaft, align the setscrews to the flat location of the motor shaft. Tighten the setscrews with a one-eighth hex wrench. As a reminder, the size of hex wrench may vary, and you may need to use a different screwdriver. It is important to ensure the screws are tight. Spin the cutting head to ensure it rotates properly. The machine is now ready for use, and you may reinstall the motor cover.
