In general, melamine is not microwave or oven safe. You can use a commercial dishwasher to clean your melamine items; however, top-rack only is recommended for residential dishwashing units. These cost me cheaper, and I get to keep them and use them again, and they were so pretty compared to the plain, much thinner caterer provided rental plates. They are dishwasher safe. I bought the same and they are even prettier than the picture. I'm very happy with this purchase.

We got plenty of these in different colors. Food looks great on it and the look is cute but they get scratched very easily. Also, if you pit them in the microwave, the top layers gets scorched.
