Steeping Instructions:
Bring fresh cold water to a boil. Pour water over tea bag, and steep for about 2 minutes. Remove tea bag. For iced tea, steep a little longer and pour over ice.
Suggested Recipe: Teatime Baked Donuts
1/2 cup water
3 Bigelow English Teatime tea bags
1 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tbsp. room temperature butter
3/4 cup powdered sugar
4 tbsp. heavy cream
Natural cane sugar for garnish
In a microwave safe glass, microwave the water for 1.5 minutes or until lightly boiling. Add the 3 Bigelow English Teatime tea bags and steep for 30 minutes. Allow tea to cool. Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Mix dry ingredients and set aside. Mix the sugar and butter together with a hand mixer. Mix in the tea liquid and continue mixing until fully incorporated. Slowly add the dry ingredients while mixing. Mix until batter is smooth and free of lumps. Spoon batter into greased donut pan and bake for 12-13 minutes. Remove from oven and transfer to a cooling rack. To make the glaze, mix the powdered sugar and heavy cream together until smooth. It will be extra thick. Dip the donuts into the glaze, then sprinkle with cane sugar and serve!
