The housing and indicator are made with heavy-duty ABS plastic to stand up to daily use in a receiving area or to handle heavy boxes. This scale is powered by an included AC adapter or 4 AAA batteries (sold separately) for on-the-go applications. An auto-off feature helps save battery power, but is adjustable and can be turned off completely.

I use the scale for baking. I like the fact that it will accept large quantities but it will only measure in 10 gram quantities. This makes for a problem with salt and yeast. The quality of the unit seem fine but it is new.
