To get started, head to the kit item page. Scroll to the resources and downloads section on the right-hand side of the screen. There you'll see a green External Link icon. Click it to redirect to the East High Measurement Company's e-catalog page. From there you'll see four tabs. Select the second SOFTWARE tab. It may take a few seconds to load. Three software download options will appear. The one you need to click is the red arrow on the first driver. The first driver should be "scale made for EHP-PH.exe."

After you click the red arrow, a download link box will appear at the bottom left of your screen. Click this box and a pop-up will ask you if you want to run the software. Click run to give your computer permission to use the software. A spreadsheet will load. Grab your scale, turn it on, and plug it into the computer. We recommend connecting the scale to the computer via the scale's RS232 port to your computer's RS232 port. You can also connect them via the scale's RS232 port and a USB port.

You'll need to keep the scale turned on for the rest of the download process. With the scale and computer connected, confirm that your computer can view the scale. Click the Windows icon at the bottom left of your desktop. Type "Control Panel" into the search box. A multi-option pop-up will appear. Find and click View Devices and Printers to see all of the devices connected to your PC. The device you're looking for is the Prolific USB to Serial Comm Port. Underneath the generic device name is a unique Comm Port number in parenthesis. Notate your devices Comm Port number. Return to the spreadsheet page and finish connecting the scale to the PC.

Click the Serial tab in the top left corner of the spreadsheet page. Then select Serial Set. This will load a pop-up. Fill in the pop-up's Port, Baud rate, and Data dropdowns. For the Port dropdown select the Comm Port number you noted in the previous step. The Baud rate represents how fast information travels from the computer to the scale. You should always set it at 9600. There is only one option for the Data dropdown, 8NI. Data 8NI is the language the scale and computer use to speak to one another. Click Open Port. This will connect the scale to the PC. You can verify their connection at the bottom left of the spreadsheet page. If the automatic connection worked, the box next to the Comm number will read, "The scale is connected." You're ready to input your price look-up codes into the spreadsheet. Type the name you want to display into the Business Name box. For each product, input the Product Name, Ingredients, Life, Unit, Unit Price, Tare, and Item Code.

For the download to work, you will need to fill out all the boxes for each product. Once you've added your products, you're ready to download the spreadsheet. Click the Serial button in the top left corner. Then select Download. Click Start and the weight screen on your scale will read "download." The download will take about one minute. Once it's complete, your scale will return to its normal operating mode. To recall the price look-up code on the scale, press the RC.PLU button and type the associated product number. This will activate the total price screen. You can read the product name, weight, and its respective total cost. Press the scale's print button to create a custom label. You're set!

Waste of money. There is no software available to make programing this scale. It's going to take me weeks to hand enter up to 50 types of cheese and meat into this thing. Also the spacing on the label printer isn't set up properly out of the box.
