It helps consistently feed food through the cutting assembly for easier operation. A 5/32" slicing and 5/64" grating disc is included, along with a plastic ejector disc. A 6" x 3" kidney opening and 2" cylindrical opening can accommodate an array of different foods. It is great for vegetables like carrots, cucumbers, and celery. Be sure to replace this part should it become damaged or faulty, to restore your unit to proper functionality.

Lasted 2 and a half months before the hinge snapped again. We have gone through 4 of these in the last year. Going to just replace the whole unit at this time as we were told it was our fault for it continuing to break.
