Ateco 1354 5" Lattice Dough Cutter

This is a nifty gadget if you like to bake pies. It does a good job, but it takes some practice. I found it helpful to watch the customer-submitted video reviews of this product before making my pie!

This product is just ok. Nothing special and because it is plastic means it is not sharp and it does not cut all the way through dough.

Literally the first time I used it, it exploded apart in my hand. The whole wheel came off the handle and all of the cutter blades fell off of it. Looks like it comes apart on purpose so that you can (somewhat) customize the pattern of the cuts, maybe? But placing any amount of pressure on it causes the whole thing to break apart. Really poor design. On top of that only about 25% of the cuts actually cut all the way through. Which my first instinct was to apply a little more pressure to try to get it to cut evenly and completely, and you can guess how that ended up. Somehow, at only $ this thing is still overpriced.

This wasn't eactly the type of lattic ecutter that I was looking for but its great!!! It gives you a great design for pie crusts. You can leave it as is or stretch the crust out for a different design. And also easy to clean.

Don't waste your time. This doesn't cut pie dough or fondant through completely so it can be used for lattice. Thought I'd try to save some time with this tool, but all it did was cost me money and now it sits in a drawer.

Takes a bit of practice to use properly, and needs a perfectly flat surface underneath. I tend to use pie crust recipes that aren't strong enough to use this, since mine have lots of butter chunks still and are rather delicate, but with tougher crust, this works very well.

The cutter is easy to hold and very easy to use. Ateco products have always been very well made and this one holds up just the same.

you need the right thickness and a very flat surface with even pressure to get the results. you have to re-register to cut the whole top at least once with some care. it works.

This is a pretty straight forward cutter. Does it job well and it easy to clean. We made and entire days worth of pie crusts in a row and did not have a single misstep with this cutter. All came out perfect.

This lattice dough cutter is the perfect size for those hard to make pie covers. Just one roll will do the job and cut right through the dough. Best way to clean is with a brush though.

This lattice dough cutter is just what we needed in our high school culinary classroom to make our lattice tops for our pie baking unit. So happy to find this great tool!

This is a nifty tool to make lattice marks for any kind of fruit pies. It's easy to use and saves me a lot of time! It looks incredible with apple pie. Don't forget to wash the pie dough with egg to get that golden color when baked.

The Ateco 1354 Lattice Cutter is an excellent quality baking accessory from a quality manufacturer. The build quality of the dough cutter is excellent. Its a very sturdy and hard plastic. It's not flimsy and should break easily. The cutting edges are fairly sharp given they are plastic. The only downside to this product is it takes some practice to use but thats an inherent pitfall to gadgets such as this. The blades tend to stick depending on the dough, its temperature, etc so make sure to dust with plenty of flour. Also make sure to press firmly, to commit, otherwise it won't cut all the way through and retracing your steps is a bit difficult. The build quality of the product is excellent and its a bargain of a price so get yourself one and play around with it.

This lattice dough cutter is a very cool addition to my baking tools. I used to spend time cutting and arranging pastry dough to get the lattice look and now I can just use this dough roller. The dough is still delicate but much easier to handle than individual strips of dough.

Couldn't be happier with this item! Makes beautiful lattice on pie crust and puff pastry without taking forever like hand-cut does. Great for volume work or a single pie or Danish. Cleans easily.

This lattice cutter works great. You do need to make sure you press down with firm pressure to cut all the way through the dough.

This pie crust lattice cutter is so awesome. It makes our pies look extra special for holidays and special orders. They come out perfectly every time.

Nice lattice cutter, although it does take some practice to use efficiently and you normally need to hold down on the pastry to make sure it does not roll up around the blades. Making it look neat is a little tricky too, but overall a big time saver compared to hand weaving a lattice.

Nice lattice cutter. We use it at the bakery for cutting croissant dough. Only negative is when pushing down hard to cut the dough , the sides come apart the cutter comes off.
