The weight of this glass measuring cup is nice and heavy, I don't worry about it breaking because of a thin glass construction. I ended up taking this outside to use in my garden and it has held up great! It's so useful outside I never want to bring it back inside! I like it so much I'm ordering a second one & this time I'll keep the new one in my kitchen! The lid - well, truthfully, I never use it. I've actually never had a need to use it. And that's just as well because it isn't easy to snap on tightly. But since I don't ever NEED the lid, this little measuring jar is perfect for measuring and pouring those small amounts. Even though I'm not sure WHY a person would NEED three pouring spouts, it feels very scientific to have them anyway!
