Cheap, simple and effective. Not especially pretty, but thats not its job. I use these both in the kitchen and on the table with hot bowls and pots. One thing that I like is that it holds up to the hottest cast iron and is usually hidden underneath whatever is placed on it.

Recently remodeled our kitchen and got granite counter tops. In order to protect them I decided to look for trivets. Love these and have not seen anything like them elsewhere.
