I actually use this for cleaning small items around the house. It allows me to rinse things out in the sink without fear of dropping something down the drain. I plan on buying another for use in the garage to hold small parts while soaking in cleaning solution than holding it under faucet to rinse them off. These are a great deal and not just for frying foods. i'm surprised at how well these are made considering the price they sell for
