Ordered this wild caught Pacific salmon on 5/19 - after calling and emailing we finally received our order today on 5/30. Website says its Pink Salmon or Humpback Salmon. Turns out it is actually Chum Salmon. Chum salmon is definitely NOT Pink/Humpback salmon. Pink salmon is high in fat and flavor, and is the smallest of the Pacific salmons. Chum is the largest of the Pacific salmons and is low in fat. Definitely not the fish described on the website.

Salmon is one of our top favorite seafoods, and originally hailing from the Pacific Northwest were overjoyed to learn we could purchase in a quantity to satisfy our craving. The original purchase did not arrive, and after two (2) weeks of the shipping page stating "on the way", we contacted customer service, who were great in sending a new order. However, what arrived is not appealing at all. The flesh is muddy-orange and tan (pale in color) and easily fell apart in gloppy pieces once the package was opened. The discoloration and missing white bands of the salmon are indicative that the fish may not be safe for consumption. Certainly not a fish we recognize being from the Pacific Northwest, and due to it's coloration cannot offer a positive recommendation.

The fish is from china which surprised me. The portions are just right and the fish is light orange in color so not sure how much in terms of carotenoids it contains relative to other types of salmon and hence, health benefit. But it tastes good and is versatile in that it is just the fish.

Salmon is probably my favorite food to consume when I go out to eat. Though, I am very picky when it comes to the type of salmon. If it doesn't taste right, I will not eat the entire portion. With that being said, The Ocean Street Wild Caught Pacific Salmon is spot on when it comes to taste. I enjoyed every bite from start to finish. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking at ordering salmon.

This is a good product and the fact that it's individually wrapped makes it better. No bones or skin and low fat. I will buy again.
