My initial panini press was a used model, which prompted me to purchase a new one of higher quality. A neighboring sandwich shop highly recommended this specific model that they loved. I believed that a flat-bottom grill would be easier to clean. Consequently, I chose to buy this particular model. Upon opening it and attempting to make several paninis, I was disappointed to find that each one browned unevenly. The top plate descended at a steep angle, heating only the back portion of the panini. As a result, the back burned while the front remained nearly untouched. Don’t hesitate on purchasing this press. In the past we have used versions not as nice. Which leads to having to have the press worked on or replaced. Make the investment. Loved the grooved top and flat bottom!

This is a workhorse panini grill. We have been very happy with it. It's not a cheap grill - it's a solid, commercial grill that's heavy and well made. It takes about 30 minutes for it to warm up to around 350 degrees. If the cast iron is kept clean and seasoned, it should last for a very long time. This is our second grill to purchase so we can have two grills running at once. It takes quite a bit of current to run this machine, so consulting with your electrician about your kitchen's electrical capabilities would be wise since it needs a designated circuit.

We swapped out a grooved top and bottom for this grooved top and smooth bottom grill. it still allows us to press paninis, but now allows for more frying surface for our burgers, veggies, etc that don't do well on a grooved bottom. Couldn't be happier!

This is worth every penny. This panini press will hold four large sandwiches and cook them to perfection. There is no need to use the timer function as this will perform beyond expected. An absolute must for any sandwich shop.

This grill is great for our small deli. It takes about 20-30 minutes to preheat but once it's heated it makes wonderful paninis. We needed to get a separate outlet wired for it because when we ran the microwave and the panini grill was on it would trip the breaker. Clean up is a snap.
