Much better than electric stovetop griddles. I have an induction stovetop, and it turns out induction stovetops do not work well with griddles. Very few multi-burner griddles are induction compatible, and the ones that are compatible have terrible hotspots. I got the Vollrath, and the experience has been day and night compared to stove-top griddles. I chose Vollrath over Avantco, since it's a few inches shorter, 10 lbs lighter, should heat up faster, looks nicer, and takes up less counter space. Temperature control has been spot on. It heats up exactly to the selected temp in around 10 minutes. Edges are about 50-70F degress cooler than the center. If you want absolutely uniform temperature, Avantco may be better, since the surface plate is 30% thicker. It uses a lot of electricity, so make sure you use a dedicated 1800w electrical circuit.

The grill heats up very quickly and works perfectly. The legs are firm and sturdy. When you turn the grill on, the light comes on. I wish it would blink while heating up. I could never tell if the grill had reached the temperature.

I bought this to use for toasting tortillas and bread slices for a mobile food vending business. Needless to say a lot of our equipment is subjected to extreme abuse and constant moving (set up and break down every shift), and this grill has not only performed perfectly throughout the abuse but I also dropped this thing on it's head twice and it still works great. The first time was from about 5 ft off the ground and the second maybe 4 ft. I had to bang the back corner back of the lip with a hammer but it's good to go otherwise. Very happy with purchase. If you want a tank, this is it.
The size of the grill is just large enough for our food truck however, I feel the waring wgr140 is better suited to our needs.
Needed a small counter Top grill. The size was perfect and it cooks very well in the pool snack bar. I would recommend this product to any smaller scale usage.
