The switch flips to a neutral position after operation to prevent unintended use. Located along the main control panel are several additional knobs and switches. The knob in the middle controls the variable speed settings and allows the operator to adjust the speed from 1 to 10. Adjustable speed settings process product to different textures, great for a wide range of applications.

What is the proper technique for cleaning my blender jar?
Due to the metal construction of their drive components, blender jars are a hand wash only item. They should not be run through a dishwasher, and care should be taken to avoid directly spraying the bottom of the container with a high pressure pre-rinse faucet. For best results, clean the bottom of the jar with a washcloth and a mild detergent or sanitizer when needed.

We opted for the 3.3hp "commercial" blender because of it's constant use. We also use them in processing sauces, dressing and other marinades. I really like that you can get extra or replacement pitchers incase one is not enough or they break if dropped frequently.

From the first use it didn't work properly. The thermal sensor triggers the auto shut off in under 60 seconds making blending anything impossible. We are not blending anything hot, too thick, or out of the ordinary. Support and Vitamix won't take the unit back because now it's been opened even though they acknowledge it could be a faulty unit and it is not working properly. Highly recommend staying away from this and trying a different brand.
