This cutter does nothing. I wish I had read the other review because I had the same problem. The cutter just wraps the pasta around itself. The blade doesn't actually spin after it touches the 1st piece of dough. Waste of money.

DOESNT CUT, I HAVE WATCHED MANY MANY VIDEOS AND READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. ONCE ON AND SPINNING, ALL IT DOES IS SPIN THE NOODLE AROUND IT, BACK TO THE TRUSTEE SCISSORS

We bought Sirman's automatic cutter attachment to use with our rigatoni and shell dies, and we're glad we did. Shaped pasta comes out of the Concerto 5 pretty dang fast, and it's just not feasible to stand over the die with a knife and play Pasta Ninja until all the dough is extruded. Most users are still going to need to babysit the machine - you want to watch and occasionally empty the tub of pasta before it gets too full and starts crushing the stuff on the bottom - but it's much more manageable, and the regular timing on the cutter allows you to get a consistent size you'd never be able to achieve manually.
