after a couple of months of serving salads in these bowls, i noticed a little discoloration on the very bottom of the bowl. almost like rust dots.

I love these bowls for mixing different slaws and salads together. they are great on the line and hold about 1-2 portions at a time. the metal is also solid and stacks well also.

Probably the best oversized bowl I have ever used! The 20qt bowl is solidly made, light in weight and easy to clean. The only downside is that due to its size it’s tough finding a spot to place it when not in use!

I purchased the 1.5 Qt and 3 Qt version of this product, per Cooks' Illustrated recommendation, however this bowl had a series of what appeared to be scratches in the inside that I wiped with a towel and look to be deposits of mold.

What can I say, it's a mixing bowl. What you don't get a feel for in the picture is how large this thing is. I use it to mix 5lbs of dry rub seasoning at once and it holds it all. Cleanup is a snap since it's stainless steel.

This is a great mixing bowl. I would highly recommend this bowl for kitchen use, home or professional. The size is perfect for small jobs such as beating eggs or combining spices. The construction of the bowl is of high quality and the rim of the bowl is nicely rounded. The gauge of the metal is sturdy and durable. Lastly, the bowl stacks well with its own size and nests into large mixing bowls for efficient storage.

I bought this Vollrath 16 quart stainless steel bowl to use in my food wagon. My initial reaction to the bowl when I first received it was that it was a little thin and cheap but it turns out it has held up well over the season. I toss my fries, chicken tenders and onion rings around in seasoning in this bowl before i serve them. I am going to buy a second one to do buffalo wings and tenders in. Based on quality, price and functionality I recommend this product.

We absolutely love this bowl! While it might sound large, it is perfect for mixing large batches of various salads, making meatloaf, mixing up salsa, making fruit salad... well, you can go from there. There\'s no end to the usefulness of this bowl. Cleanup is a snap. I highly recommend this bowl... you\'ll wonder how you ever got along without one!

These are surprisingly sturdy bowls. The stainless is relatively thin and appreciably light but it holds up very well. If abused, the bottom and sides will get dinged and misshaped but they've always remained usable. It's more than you could ask for at this price.

For years I’ve been using similar-looking winco bowls, which have become indispensable, one of the most-often used tools in my kitchen. Their extremely low weight makes them so easy to use. But I hate that they’re SO thin they flex at the bottom with any pressure, flinging up bowl contents. Serious Eats raved abt these, so I ordered the most useful size (in my home kitchen anyway), the 3 qt, just to see how it compares. Right away I saw that the Vollrath’s steel is thicker, resulting in a slightly heavier bowl, not quite light as air, but nearly. The bottom has no give or flex. I’m glad I didn’t order the heavy duty version - these are more than substantial enough! I’m seeing reviews that these are “thin”, suggesting a poor prognosis for long term use. They are not that thin, but thin enough to feel pleasantly weightless, while also maintaining its material integrity under ordinary force and pressure. A solid value, and one of my new kitchen favorites!

I was looking for a mixing bowl for my baking needs. This bowl is great at an affordable price. The bowls nest nicely as well if you order various sizes. I would buy again.

This is a great big bowl! It works for mixing up pasta salads, tuna salads, mixing up apple pie filling for canning in the fall. It will hold a lot!

Really high quality bowl - no rust whatsoever. I've used it in the dishwasher and it survives excellently. These are very light and durable. This large bowl is great for sharing a large bag of popcorn or tossing a large salad to share.

I use this bowl daily on my food truck. I use it to toss tater tots with seasoning, as well as boneless wings in BBQ sauce. It's a great size and super easy to handle. Seems to be great quality, as well.

Wow! Very durable, perfectly shaped bowl for tossing, whipping, or mixing! It came beautiful without a single scratch! Not to even mention the fast shipping!

The bowl is nice but is also thin. I've owned it for over a year and it has no dings or scratches. Even so, it feels flimsy and weighs little. The light weight doesn't feel good when mixing things and I often opt for the thicker bowl when it's clean.

Excellent and dirt cheap, I should have bought a dozen. No need for other brands. Does not deform, easy to clean with steel wool. Very good bowl

After my stand-mixer bowls, these might well be the most-used mixing bowls in my home kitchen (I own 3 of this size). This bowl is just the right size for most single-batch baked goods-----everything from a batch of cookies to a batch of muffins to a batch of pancake or waffle batter. I also use it a lot for whisking together the dry ingredients before adding them to the butter-sugar mixture in my stand-mixer when making cake batters. These bowls are tough and sturdy and take a beating with a hand-mixer. They wash up great either by hand or in the dishwasher. They stack together perfectly, thus minimizing the amount of space they take up in storage.

very strong ,nice quality,good size and is really helpful to mix medium size portions ,can be used to prep for 4 people , very good to prep salads .i brought in 3 different sizes and using them to clean veggies , soak them in vinegar

A huge bowl, beryls lightweight, but perfect for light-duty mixing. I use this for transferring large quantities of liquid, and for milling the curds of cheddar cheese. Perfect for the cases where you need to mix up large batches by hand.

These are the perfect bowls for setting up ingredients for meal prep. They are extremely versatile; you can put them in the oven, you can add a stretch silicone top and use them for storing leftovers, you can use them to help measure out ingredients... Love them will be back for more.

This Vollrath 5 QT mixing bowl is pretty wide but can be hidden away inside a cupboard with relative ease. It also fits the 3 QT and 1.5 QT bowls easily within itself for more efficient storage. Really useful if you are mixing batters for cooking or need to transport cooking ingredients around.

Great mixing bowls, I have several of these bowls in several sizes and use them almost every day. I have made everything from pasta to ice cream in them and couldn't be happier with their performance. They work great as double boilers too. Will definitely be purchasing more of these when the need arises.

I’ve had these stainless steel mixing bowls for almost 2 years now and they are just as good and durable as when I first got them. I wanted basic steel mixing bowls that were lightweight, a little wider and shorter in height and at a solid price point. These check all marks and they are definitely durable. We use them daily while prepping to cook and they definitely serve it’s purpose! They stack easily for storage as well. But more than that, you can’t beat the price - you’d end up paying at least 6x the amount at a dept store and the quality still wouldn’t compare!

Vollrath makes great stuff, recently I've purchased their 10" spatula and some more of their economy mixing bowls. The Vollrath high heat silicone spatula is the best spatula I've ever owned, and extremely comfortable for stirring thick ingredients. Also, over the past couples years I've purchased the first 5 sizes of the Vollrath economy mixing bowls. I started with the 1.5, 3, and 4, then just recently added the .75 and the 5. They are exceptional as well as lightweight which is nice when it's time to wash the dishes. The size 4 gets the most use, but they all have their place such as when I'm prepping a lot of food at once.

I bought several model of the Vollrath stainless steel mixing bowls, and I've never been disappointed! The quality is always great and they are easy to clean.

these bowl are the right one for me i used them for melting the chocolate because it get hot fast and that help me a lot while im working with chocolates

Nice small mixing bowl, it fulfills its purpose and it's just the right size for small portions. Just keep in mind it's quite thin, so would not recommend to use it on a stove as the food might burn (not good for electric stoves use).

This bowl is very nice. Super smooth interior. Heavy enough for home use. Fits in our lower cabinet that we use for baking stuff. Big enough to kneed the dough within the bowl..
