We just got it today. This thing is a beast, cutting through frozen eyerounds ( if you thaw out in the fridge the night before) super thin like butter. Wish I got this sooner, love it! Can't wait to slice sirloin and other meats on here! Worth the $6000 investment. I don't have to rely on a guy to do it any more, any one can use this machine once it's set up.

The Vollrath 40954 meat slicer is a dream to work with. The slide mechanism is far more fluid than any others I have used. Further, when (not if) you have to remove the blade, Vollrath has made it both quick and safe with their patented blade removal system. The thickness of cut is more than adequate for any sort of prep work, and the power is more than enough too (@3/4 HP). The most advantageous aspect of this product is the automatic carriage. The carriage saves oodles of time. Nothing like coming back to your slicer to find a mountain of cheese or meat stacked perfectly. No doubt the initial cost is high, but the return on investment (you have to buy one anyway + time saved) will be short, all things considered. Highly recommend!
