Bought this 2.5 years ago and now it's broke. Auger twisted away and snapped. Cant replace or fix without huge cost. You are out of ice for 24 hours once you go through the cleaning process so there is that. Honestly this machine is useless. It creates so little ice and so slowly you find yourself always out of ice. Definitely a loss on investment every way you cut it (I even bought the 2 year warranty). This has ruined me from the Scotsman product. I will NEVER buy anything this brand again. Yes, that is how poorly badly constructed it is. Cannot test the waters on anything this brand. No Trust.

Pretty much worthless. This machine produces ice so incredibly slowly that it melts before it can accumulate. Fill it with ice from another source and PERHAPS it can keep up. Save your money.

When it is working it's great. Only had if for a year and it's giving us problems already. One day it's working and then the next day there's barely any ice. We really love the ice it makes just wish it was reliable. I wish we bought another brand.

Only made it four years. It kept up well enough for our little place before it broke down. I wouldn't say it was any better than other brands while it was in use, certainly not enough to justify the higher cost. The placement of the drain was always an issue for us and required us to keep a close eye on it to make sure it drained well. And doing regular maintenance on it was always a pain because of the placement of everything in the back and struggling to drain the reservoir out instead of straight down into the machine. I love nugget ice and had high hopes after dishing out several thousands for this machine. However, since using it from April 2024 til now I have had numerous days where it will just stop producing ice completely and other days where it works just perfectly so I would have to bag ice and freeze it just in case it decides to stop. I have tried contacting Scotsman who then refers me to the local service dealership repair shops, and when they hear the word warranty, they all make excuses of being too busy or not wanting to service my area. So I am left in limbo.

I purchased this ice machine in 2021 for my small bakery/cafe coffee service. It's been plugged in and running none stop for 2 years and I've never had an issue. It produces great small nugget ice that won't tear up any commercial blenders for frappe drinks. It's super quiet. Small foot print. Truly a workhorse - I'm buying another for my next location. To be honest, I didn't change the filter for over a year and I didn't do any of the normal maintenance that first year and it still runs and works great. I am much better about it now that I have more staff and I'm a bit more stable going into my 3rd year in business. Keep your coils clean - vacuum them as you're supposed to. Have the unit serviced/checked by a professional once a year. Make sure to clean it and descale it. Change the filter and you're all good. Great machine. No issues.

DO NOT BUY...lasted only a couple months and compressor went bad. Purchased for a new menu item at my restaurant that was a huge success until the icemaker was NOT! Scotsman will NOT help you no matter how many times you call, Webataurant is no better in this matter....it's been 5 1/2 weeks broken and no ETA on a new compressor on the way STAY AWAY

Wish I could give this 10 stars. I love this machine. I am partial to the "nugget" ice. This unit was very easy to install, the instructions were very clear when it came time to turn it on and get going. The bin is not cooled, but that hasn't mattered for us, it drops ice so frequently we never seem to go low.

The Scotsman UN1215 is unreliable. I have been on the phone with Scotsman several times to trouble shoot the machine. It is frustrating to go through the cleaning and re-cleaning cycle of the machine. When it produces nugget ice, it is great. However, it does not produce nugget ice reliably. I wish I did not buy it.

This ice maker works very well and the ice comes out perfect every time and doesn't clump up. I wouldn't really call it an under-counter unit but it is still great.
