Reviews for Thunder Group 3" White Marble Mortar and Pestle Set

First off, it's a beautiful looking mortar and pestle. I keep it visible in the kitchen even though I don't use it that often. There are grooves in the mortar and the bottom of the pestle is rough as well to aid in grinding. The full volume of the mortar, I would estimate to be less than or about 1 cup but the actual usable volume would be closer to 1/3 cup of actual spices.

This has noticeable grooves or ridges in it making it useless for my needs with things. Was specifically looking for one with a smooth inside surface. This does not have that. To return the item would cost more than just keeping.

A study, attractive piece, but this size tends to be more for show than practicality. It can handle a clover or two of garlic or a few seeds/spices, but any amount more than a few teaspoons and the spices try to jump out or the soft stuff goes over the sides. If you want this for, say, pesto, even on a small scale, opt for the 16 ounce. I do really like the feel of the marble.

Solid mortar and pestle! Love the size because it is not too big or too small. I make basil pesto in this when making a pound of pasta for dinner and we just love it.

I much prefer a smooth M&P over the rough, porous one I used to have. It can be a bit slippery to work with, but that it just the nature of the beast.

This mortar and pestle is beautiful! It works great for mashing avocado, spices, and nuts (to break their shells). It is nice and heavy too, so it doesn’t move around while you’re mixing things.

This is an awesome mortar and pestle. You can't go wrong with marble. The only drawback is it's a little too small. I wish I had ordered the larger one. Good for making a small dry rub for one or two servings, but I wouldn't use it for anything larger.

this is a small mortar and pestle set - but works great and marble is smooth making the spices grinds into very fine powder for the dish so you don't see the spices in the food but can taste the spices. Price is not bad at all and shipping is affordable. Definitely should buy.

This is a very nice mortar and pestle set. It is very heavy but nicely balanced. I purchased it hoping that I would be able to grind caraway seeds but that didnt work so well, though it does a good job grinding up other things and looks like a cute deco piece on the shelf when it isnt being used

This is heavy duty and the perfect size. I love grinding up herbs I grow from my garden. I also use this to grind up medicine. This is a must have if you grow a lot of herbs.

Very sturdy and good quality. Also looks great in the kitchen. I would definitely buy more to give as gift for housewarming. Would definitely recommend.

Love this piece. Use it to grind peppers, garlic, or ingredients into a paste. Very elegant to keep out on the counters. Also perfect price for a conservative gift!

Great quality mortar and Pestle, but very small. I was on the hunt for one that I could use to grind a range of spices in my home kitchen, but this one was a tad too small to accommodate just about anything but a few peppercorns. I bet it would work really well for grinding up pills.

I like to use this mortar and pestle for grinding down salt to use in popcorn. It's a small size, perfect for a few tablespoons worth of salt.

Great product, great price! I have a small home apothecary as well as rescuing dogs and several of them require medication/supplements, but are great at finding it and hiding it, so this little life saver comes in handy and allows me to quickly grind up their medication/supplements so that it can easily be added to their food without detection. The quality is great, especially for the price, and looks great on my apothecary cabinet shelf when not in use. I would definitely recommend and am buying again in a larger size.

This is a perfect tool for mashing my garlic and onions for my sauces. The hand tool is small enough to crush the pieces that you need and it has the perfect weight so you don’t feel like you will break it in use. It is a little heavy so be careful that it will not fall off of your countertop. For the price this is way better quality than I was expecting.

This is a decent heavy mortar and pestle. Seems like it can be a good workhorse. Would be improved by a stickier base, need to be sure to hold it with one hand.

Mortar and pestle results are always better than a blade grinder if you have the patience to use it. I find it so useful I wish I had the larger one, so I'll be buying another soon.

The tiny 4" Marble Mortar and Pestle Set are a fine addition to my kitchen its look and feel quality but its super small maybe good for mashing garlic or spices.

We use this in our bar rather than our kitchen, as it's pretty small! However, it looks great and feels like a quality product, being proper marble.

I’m a home baker and this is the perfect size for the small batches I’m accustomed to.
