Does the job! I love that I don't need to worry about hand cutting cake levels anymore. This is a great tool to invest in if you have shaky hands or just want to cut the worktime in half!! Love how cheap it is too, it feels sturdy and like it will hold up for a good long while.

I've always had trouble getting a consistent layer of cake cut off using a knife, and this makes it much easier! The groves on the side are helpful to make sure the wire stays in place and is at the same height on both sides.

There is no other reasonable to level a cake than with this knife. I used to use a bread knife, but invariably, the cake would be slightly lopsided and I would have to try to shim the layers to lay straight. With this, every layer is perfectly even. Kids go nuts over the scraps that are cut off too!

This cake leveler works well, and is comfortable in the hand, light weight but sturdy and easy to get a nice even cut. Would recommend to others and would purchase again.

This is such a nifty little gadget, and I didn't even think such things existed. IF you're doing light delicate cakes it probably works, but for getting through pound cake it basically stunk. Wouldn't buy again.

Great tool for leveling the cakes. It also can be use to torte and divide the cakes at different levels. It is very easy to use and better than using a bread knife.

Much easier to trim cakes with this than to try and keep a knife level. The notches on the posts that mark the wire height could definitely be more visible. After a lopsided trimming, I traced over them with permanent marker and haven’t had an issue since. Definitely store it in a protective sleeve or box so there are no unintended cuts.

This leveler works great, once you get the hang of it. It has indent on both sides to move the wire to your desired height for leveling your cakes.

This is a decent cake leveler it works fairly well for the price a big downfall is their is no handle so it’s hard to use

Lightweight, easy to use cake leveler. It was a little floppy for me to hold since there's no real grip. But once you start to shave the dome off the cake, it has resistance. It has notches on the sides to adjust height.

This cake leveler works well it does not shift when leveling the cakes which is a plus. The only caveat is I wish that it could cut the cakes a little thinner but you can improvise.

This product works so well and there's no issue with it. My daughter uses it in her culinary class. Its a plus to have it as a student. 9

This leveler is perfect for removing the domes off of cakes to give you the clean level surface of a cake. It’s not the most sturdiest leveler out there but for the price you seriously can’t beat it! I have realized it’s a little flimsy on a the denser style cakes but works wonderfully on a fluffier style cake recipe!

This leveler is awesome! It makes taking the top off of cakes so easy. It's great for ensuring you have even, uniform layers for your cakes. I'd definitely purchase this again if I had to.

This works to slice cakes into thinner circles for decorating multiple layer cakes. I prefer to use a bread knife to cut the cake into layers, but for beginners or those not wanting to freehand slice the layers, this is great.

Takes a little finesse to get good results, but is still better than using a knife. We thought we'd be able to split cakes with this tool, but it doesn't adjust low enough.

It takes some practice to get this leveler to slide through a cake easily but it's easy once you do. This helps us make level cakes as well as with creating layers.

It gets the job done sometimes. It does not work very well with firmer crusts, but if you want to level a softer cake this leveler will do fine.

I seriously don't know what I would do without this leveler. I've had the same exact leveler since the beginning (which has been 5 years). It has leveled 100's of cakes perfectly each and every time. :)

This leveler is inexpensive, and will do its job, but it is not without its issues. It is completely unusable for cakes with firmer crusts. Even if you start the cut with a knife, it just won't go through. Another issue is that even at its lowest setting, The wire is too high to use it to cut layers from a cake. If you just want to top a soft crumbed cake, this will work just fine. If you want anything else, you'll need to choose something else.

The wire cake leveler makes cutting cakes very easy. It cuts evenly with one stroke. You can easily adjust the height of the leveler. I definitely would recommend this product

this was one of my favorite baking accessories. It makes slicing a cake into layers a whole lot easier then using a bread knife. this is a must have for any cake maker

This is a fine, inexpensive cake leveler. If you line up the notches perfectly and keep it steady, it does a decent job of leveling cakes. The wire cuts pretty well. The price is right if you just need to do a simple level job but if you frequently make cakes, it might be better to invest in a more solid leveler.
