This box cutter is great I recently purchased this item after the grocery store i work at part time gave these to us for work. And i loved it so i got some for my other job and it works great. It has a nice handle and blade control which is easily adjustable so you don't cut anything you don't want to.
I purchase this cutter on my own and I use it everyday for work. The build quality is very good but it will get a little sticky over time, this hasn't happened to my personal knife but I've seen others at work with gummed up sliding mechanisms. I don't see this as an issue due to the price. I also wouldn't want to use a different cutter because they do not have the tape split or metal edge guide. The edge guide is also very nice as a pry tool since the metal goes down the entire body of the blade. The only downside is that it uses a proprietary blade format, so you will have to purchase Pacific Handy branded blades specifically. I recommend.
