We tried about seven different waffle irons All with the "commercial" rating written on the box. They were all junk broke almost immediately. This unit has been incredible. We have had replaced the grids one time and I think we may have to do them again in the future. It's not worth the extra money to get the coated grids. Webstaurant also sells the best waffle iron spray we have found. Works incredible.
