I haven't been able to locate gas which fits this in any physical store. It's sold on this site, but only by the case, and the shipping is very pricy (it added over a lot to the shipping cost for my order -- I assume because shipping fuel is a risky business). Considering the number of places I've tried, and failed, to find to find gas for this, I would not recommend the home cook buy this for occasional use, unless you want to keep a lifetime's supply of gas in your pantry.

This kitchen torch is well priced and easy to use. It was compatible with the butane fuel sold at my local big box store--I didn't need to use the Chef Master brand.

This thing is a beast. Creme Brulee is a big seller for me and this cuts my torching time in half.

Less hassle and expense than the refillable style. As far as I know, any butane can will work. You don't need a propietary type. Get a 4-can pack at a store that sells them for stoves. This style is the way to go.

We bought this cooking butane torch to toast marshmallows for our ice cream topping. It has a nob that must be turned before butane comes out and a button to press so the flame comes out, which is great for added safety. The only downsize is having to buy a separate item for butane, it's just used as the device that creates the flame. However, I've also used the other torches and in comparison, this one has a much stronger flame but can make you easily burn yourself since it comes out faster and stronger.

This tool is a must have for brulee! Easy to assemble for use and break apart for storage. Adjustable knob for desired flame amount. I suggest buying two so the Chefs and the Pastry Chefs don't have to share.

Once I bought this I will never go back to the store bought brulee torch. Very powerful. Adjustable knob lets you go full blown flame. Connects to the 8 oz can of butane.

Not exactly what I wanted. I expected it to be stronger and to be able to do more than it has. Probably more on me than the product.

I gave this a 4 star because there is no adjustment on the flame so its a little hard to control the amount of browning on your food and it does flair up a lot and when you tilt the can it affects the amount to fuel that being used.

This lil torch is awesome! Very simple to use; it attaches to a butane canister by spinning and clicking into place. Once on, you turn the back dial to adjust the strength/feed of the gas, and the button on-top activates a spark in the nozzle which lights the gas. Small, feels very nice in hand. I've deducted a star because, after only light use (probably less than 30 times), the lighting mechanism is not as responsive/strong as it used to be. Sometimes I have to get the gas lit with a bbq stick lighter.

This is a decent torch and properly torches the items we need it for. The clicker is a bit hard to press but once you use it a few times you get used to it.

We use the torch only occasionally but it has held up for quite awhile. Great for creme brûlée. It's small size tucks away very easily when not in use.

I have been very happy using this little butane torch. It uses the same fuel that is sold on this website and the fuel also fits the portable stoves. I use the torch to get that extra crispy crust on a steak. It works very well and doesn't impart any bad flavors onto the steak.

Can finally get rid of the DIY torch from Home Depot. Looks more professional and made for the kitchen. Easy to get lit and flame strength can be adjusted for the perfect burn

This connected to the gas tank works really well. The fire is at a good size. It connects well and doesn't break off easily either.

We use for sear some fish, the fire are medium. It take sometime. It s easy to attach with butane gas cartridge but not lock good.

We use this to toast our homemade marshmallows for customer and it works GREAT! The flame can be controlled and when attached to the can, its not too big or over cumbersome which allows us to slowly toast our marshmallows perfectly. After a few times of practice, its easy to use this torch. I'm sure I will order another one very soon!

This is the BEST Butane Torch out there!!! I was always afraid to use the torches that attach directly to the butane can cause knowing me, the can would explode in my hand. So I've been using the other style torches, the kind you fill & you can't light a match with let alone caramelize the sugar for the creme brulee, ya those. Well, I put my fears aside & purchased one of these. Simple to use, just attach to the butane can, turn the knob, hit the button & voila, a flame that can actually put a hole in something & doesn't explode. So if you want some serious flame, look no further. I'm just sorry I wasted my money on these other 4 or 5 useless torches.

This Crème Brulee torch is a must have for any bakery. It works great for making the sugar coating on Flan. I would highly recommend this item.
