Very wide chef knife. Smooth-cutting chef knife. Very sharp. Has extra heft to help power through the job, even on tougher cuts. We were worried the rubber-type grip handle would be cheesy or cheap, but it is actually really nice, and very helpful to prevent slips. Also great for use to scoop up what you've cut to quickly dump it in a pan.

i was in market for a good chef knife as mine were cheap and dull mercer chef knives are real steinless steel and very sharp

One of my all time favorite Chef knives from Mercer Culinary. This knife is great. The handle is comfortable! It also stays sharp and keeps an edge unlike other expensive Chef knives.

Mercer Millennia 10" Chef Knife is a beast. "The Wide Chef" size is quite large and would only recommend it for truly large tasks. That being said if there are a large number of vegetables to chop this is the right tool for the job.

Good general purpose knife that will stay good after many times being sharpened. Comes in a variety of colors to avoid cross contamination, ect. Good size and feel overall with a comfortable handle.

Great knife, this knife get's used on all three lines, good as a utility, heavy enough to cut chicken bone with one whack too. comfortable handle too.

This is my favorite Mercer knife I love the weight and feel of it. Like the other Mercer knifes we have it is very comfortable, stays sharp and cuts through fruits and veggies like nothing is there. Very good product I would recommend any kitchen have one handy.

I love this knife! It is very sharp and it slices easily, without tearing or breaking. It is comfortable to hold and is dishwasher safe. I couldn't ask for more.

Much better than expected. I am very fussy about chef knives but I liked the idea of a wide knife that would make transferring chopped vegetables from the board to the pan easier and quicker. This knife does that, but I was surprised that it is very well balanced, and the handle is comfortable, with enough texture that you don't have to crush the handle to hang on if your hands are wet. I don't baby inexpensive knives and they run through the dishwasher. It's not some carbon steel Sabatier or precious Japanese Damascus blade. This thing is a workhorse like a hammer on a carpenter's tool belt, and in that regard, it's a very good hammer, It slices through hard vegetables like butternut squash easily, and even chicken bones. I am happy with it, and recommend it for busy kitchens where speed and ease of care are important.

This is truly a wonderful knife and unbeatable for the price. It is very heavy and keeps a great edge. Worth every penny. The handle is very comfortable

Amazing quality for an amazing price! This knife does everything you want it to without any problems. The wide blade is a big advantage when you need to move things from a cutting board to a pan or a bowl. One thing i really liked about it was that it came super sharp and lasted a long time. 5 stars!

This very sharp knife just doesn't care what it's cutting. Heavy thick blade doesn't falter. Hint: Don't put your hand between the blade and what you're cutting. Product works very well as intended as well as many alternative uses I'm sure.

Nice, large knife, especially for the price. Just like other Mercer's, it keeps its edge. This one has a very thick body to it, making it heavy and stiff. Great for splitting chickens, melons, etc..

Folks, this knife is solid!! I mean, this knife is solid!! It is heavy duty, and heavy. Heavier than normal, but the extra weight does help when cutting skirt steak, or similar. This is a 10" extra wide chef knife, may not be for everybody, but if you cut 7-10" wide skirt steaks, all day like we do... the extra wide blade comes in handy. The fact that it is extra wide helps with safety as your fingers are so far away from the blade (even if you wear butcher gloves) that risk of cutting your finger off drops dramatically. Believe me, we hire young college kids with zero experience... no accidents folks.

This Mercer 10"chef knife is massive and super sharp. It's made sturdy and will last a long time. It's great for all kinds of prep work.

I have had this knife for over two years now and have since forsaken a few expensive japanese and German knives in favor of this one. As a home chef for a family of 7 (plus frequent visitors), I have probably used it 360 days a year for the past two years and can not recommmend it more. The blade has a thick, heavy spine that gives weight and balance, but tapers to very thin cheeks nearer the blade edge making "see through" slices of tomato, shallot, etc. a breeze. It has no bolster which I have come to prefer, and a very well shaped and practical non-slip grip. I was worried that it would wear, but it still looks and feels brand new. Very nice knife for the price. I love the extra wide blade (great for picking up cut items on the knife) and the fact that this knife is very sharp. Not sure how long it will hold an edge but the blade looks very well made so I expect it will stay sharp with minimal maintenance.

Purchased this knife because of it's 2 knife angles and that it is half as wide again as a standard 8" chef blade. The wide blade made it so easy to use the knife along with my hand to get everything off the cutting board and into the pot. It's my go to for big root veggies and hard squash. It's my first Mercer and the blade shaved the hair off my arm right out of the box. It holds it's edge great and the handle can't be beat for comfort and washability.

Amazing 8 inch wide chef knife I think this manufacture is the only one that we use and I restaurant. This company offers a large selection of my eaves that include different colored handles. The blades are always sharp and remain sharp. The price is always very compatible

One of the very best chef knives i havenever owned. My ultimate go to knife for everything. For the price its awesome. Sharp enough to shave the hair off your arm straight out of the box. Big fan of larger knives like this. Gives the extra leverage needed when cutting through harder surfaces such as bone. Sharpens well. Strong steel. Design of handle makes it easy to grip and use.

I bought this knife for my husband since he is a bit rough on my pricey japanese knives and prefers a large, heavy blade. And since it was a very reasonable price I would gladly purchase it again if he beats this one up too. It is very heavy, in a good way, considering the low cost. It dulls easily but is good again after a touch up with a steel. I like it for cutting crisp pizza crusts and breaking down hard veggies like sweet potatoes and winter squash. Not comparable to expensive, high quality, but a fine knife for work or home use. Good knife for a beginner who is tall, as well as tiny women who like a heavy blade to put a little extra momentum in chopping tasks.
