Do not recommend for ice cream use. After just two weekends of use (slow wintry weather weekends, I might add), not just one, but both scoops have broken. The swivel mechanism on the inside of the scoop is poorly designed, as it would not stay in place. The gear that grinds as you depress the thumb switch somehow jumped notches on one of the units. For what I thought was going to be a good replacement to our previous scoops, these were certainly a poor choice!!! HIGHLY DISSATISFIED with this model of scoop, I would give it 0 stars if that were possible.

Due to the 2022 supply chain shortages, Hamilton Beach has limited their manufacturing of that product, and we were in desperate need for an alternative. We’ve ordered several dozen of these dishers over the past six months. At that time, this Choice model was readily in stock (and, as a bonus, at a lower cost). Upon receipt, we’d had about a 50% failure rate for these units after a few uses just out of the box. High quality ice cream scooper. Right-handed lever. Easy to clean. Easy to use even though, it’s huge. Perfect portion for ice cream, burger patties, rice, mashed potatoes and baking use. I would purchase this again if needed and recommend this to family or friends

Works ok. Its a decent scoop, but only lasted about 4 weeks scooping cookie dough (about 20 scoops every 3 days). The "Disher" part broke.

These ice cream scoops are wonderful!! We use them to scoop frozen Acai for our smoothie bowls. They are very sturdy, and lasted us an entire farmers market season without anything breaking. Highly recommend.

This scooper has a smooth actuation and holds 2.66 oz of product. It feels good in the hand and isn’t too light. Greenish color handle.

Absolute junk. I’ve used it to portion soft sweet bean paste and it felt apart in less than 3 weeks of use. Neither Webstaurant nor Choice is willing to help, so I’ve wasted my hard earned money. I should have spent little more and bought the disher by Vollrath. They stand behind their products and the same with disher made by them too. I’ll never buy dishers and other mechanical products made by Choice.

Great for portion control

Bought 17 and found out from employees that they all broke within the first 3 months and they are using the old ones. Do not buy complete junk. Unfortunately I can’t return I was out of the country and missed my window!

These are absolute junk. From the scoop twisting of while trying to use it to the lever in the scoop breaking. I don't even use them rigorously. Would not recommend

Ordered in August, broke by the end of October.

Very poor quality. After two to three uses, the swivel no longer works and gets stuck. As soon as we opened a new box on the #6 disher, it was visually evident that it was defective. The pin for the bottom swivel attachment was not correctly manufactured and does not operate as intended.

I use all the time. works well... they do break but I understand with the cost that this will happen.

Love this disher! We use this to portion our pulled pork at our concession stand. Very well made and super sturdy. Great price and value. Highly recommend this disher.

Depends on the size you get. The smaller ones we have last forever. This bigger #6 size last maybe 6 months for us at best before breaking. We use them for butter cream and royal icing so very easy on the mechanism and it still eventually just randomly falls apart.

Worked perfect for scooping pie filling! was super easy to clean and the bigger handle makes it much easier to hang on to!

I like this disher for teaching portioning in the classroom.

These are very cheaply made. I opened the box to one, scooped 7 cookies, and it broke. For some reason we have gone through 8 of these in one week all of a sudden, and we have been using them for 3 years. I don't know what happened, but now I'm looking for an alternative.

I love using this for many different things in the kitchen.

The newer version of these come apart way too easily. I loved the old scoops. I haven't purchased any for about a year so maybe they've made improvements, but I was very disappointment to the new version.

Quite possibly the worst disher I’ve ever used. If you look at it sideways it pops apart. I’ve owned two of them for 7 months and we have to put them back together every couple of weeks.

Not happy with the quality , cheap plastic , very fragile with the joints .

Nice Features, definitely not durable. Out of the 12 we bought, 4 have broken. 1 broke upon first use. Might be meant for cookie dough, but not icecream.

I’ve had plenty of these styles of scoopers. Most don’t hold up. This one feels tough. The mechanical side of it feels of good quality. So far its holding up and I’ll be ordering many more. The handle fits perfect and comfortable in my hand for hundreds of scoops per day.

These get the job done. The fact that they come in so many different sizes really helps our cookie program. Like all scoops, they aren't super durable. We get about 6 months of regular use before they break. But they're cheap and I don't mind replacing them.
