The metal is very resistant and well-made. It can withstand high heat that would melt other materials. It is highly recommended for its durability and resilience.

We have the 8" model for flipping funnel cakes made with the 8" ring molds. They fit perfectly in this strainer. The handle doesn't get hot even after hours of use in 360 degree oil. Its built very sturdy and cleans easily. My only complaint is that its pretty heavy and makes for a very sore wrist and fore arm after using it for a solid 6 hours of flipping cakes. I would have also like to have the holes in the mesh a little bit smaller and finer, that way I could also use it to fish out the "floaties" of batter in the oil. Some of the particles are too small for the large mesh. It is a quality piece of gear though!

No need to use the strainer. I've been looking for one of these strainer/skimmer utensils and this is exactly the size I need to strain food from oil and from liquids. Sturdy, well made, and easy to clean. Great value for the money. Ships quick and securely also.

This was purchased to be used with my fryer. I have found I also like to use it with vegetables in liquid. Also on a small pot it helps in draining pasta.

I don't use this one as much but perfect if you plan to make funnel cakes in a dutch oven. Would also be good for use at a shrimp boil.

Great little skimmer to use when frying. The handle is long enough to keep you away from the hot oil. It is very sturdy and clean up is easy.

I use this skimmer in a different way than intended - I bent the handle to right-angles to the skimmer base, and I use it for dipping cheese into hot wax. It worked perfectly, and there is even a little lip after bending, which allows me to rest it on the side of my wax-pan to drip.

This 8inch skimmer is the best item for doing anything with a deep fryer. Completely made out of steel. Dont have to worry about a hot handle and lets the oil drip back into the fryer very easy

Exactly what was expected for the price. Seems to hold up well without any issues, and get the job done. I am sure that it will need to be replaced at some point. Wish it was dishwasher safe.

This skimmer is perfect for flipping and skimming my bagels. Great, sturdy handle and very lightweight. Big enough to skim my larger pots but not so big it takes up too much space.

I really liked this item at first. It's a great size, and does its job well skimming things out of the fryer. Unfortunately after a year of use it has begun to rust. But for the price I really can't complain

Great to use for the fryers. Its has a long enough handle to the keep the employee far enough away from the oil to avoid any splashing. Its a wide skimmer and makes the work a bit easier and safer around the fryer.

These mesh skimmers are okay, but be warned, they're very fragile. After a few washes the mesh falls apart. Though they are really cheap, so we can buy more.

These seem to wear out weirdly quickly. Like they just get big holes in them. But they work for a while and I can't complain too much.

I use this for steaming and frying my food. Good to use for big events. Good quality and it is heavy duty. The length and the diameter is perfect.

Perfect for funnel cakes I couldn’t find the right tool to flip my funnel cakes so I purchased this and every since then I haven’t had a problem flipping my funnel cakes

Great for lifting items in and out of our fryer (funnel cakes) and retrieving things that fall in. A good size mesh - not a strainer by any means, but lets the oil leave as it should!

This is a great good size skimmer. Can be used for lots of things. For the price its unbeatable and still in great shape after many uses.

Nice large skimmer. Works very well for removing large quantities of food from a pot in a single scoop. Small areas of rust starting not long after purchase.

Perfect lengh for me. I used at home for branching vegetable in a small wok. Mesh size is good for big pieces of food. It is also easy to wash. Recommend no use metal scrubby.

Great for the fryer in removing chips or even crumbs. We also use this when making our chicken salad and soups for straining foods out of the broth.

This seven inch diameter nickel-plated round skimmer was exactly as I expected. It feels durable and very solid. I have not noticed any sign of wear at the neck as other reviews have described. This treat is a must have for any kitchen for sure. Very durable and I would recommend to anyone but I would like to see additional styles offered.

Can't think of anything negative to say about this skimmer. It'll last a long time and it's really easy to clean, plus it's affordable. Works well.
