you get what you pay for . . . i have never had an avaweigh scale last for more than 6 months. The last one I bought in September stopped working in January! Can anybody recommend a compact digital scale that actually is durable and can handle a commercial kitchen???

It has 1.7 second react delay when showing the weight. Don't get or think to buy it, bad product ever have

I have one of these and love it and wanted to purchase again. The top is slightly different and it takes sooo long to update the display when you add ingredients. It is unusable for my needs as I can't be standing waiting. I am not sure exact time but it is long enough where I thought it was broken at first and not reading anything. I am going to try to get a refund so I can get a different scale.

I'm a Grande Pastry Chef with not a lot of time to spare. The scale lags, it takes like 3-5 seconds to give you a precise weight. I ordered 2, and one of them came in with a defect. The gram measurement was off by a 1 tenth. This is difficult for employees to assess situation no matter how many times you explain.(Sigh) This scale is not recommend. It is not worth the time, money, and hassle.

This works well but I wish that you could set it to turn on to the weight measurement that we use. Every time we turn it on, we have to push the button over and over until we get to the grams.

This scale is so much better than my old tiny one. It makes me want to actually use it, which is great since I never actually ever use my old school because it was too much of a pain. This one rules

Really fantastic digital scale. This is the same model we use in our kitchen in pastry school, so I’ve purchased it for my home as well. Great sensitivity (measures to half a gram) and durability while also being easy to use and clean.

I was looking for a scale to up my bread game. I make sourdough and challah usually and the scale I had was not the best. It had the habit of cutting off at inopportune times and losing my tare settings, furthermore it would revert back to ounces every time! third the unit switching button was on the bottom. I knew when I saw this scale it had just what I needed. First it is accurate to .5 grams. Next it has a power cord and doesn't turn off by itself. All the buttons are on top at the front and it will weigh up to ten pounds. It has a well sized weighing platform and it's easy to read. Everything my old scale wasn't. If you make bread do yourself a favor and get this one. Don't keep suffering with the cheap ones.

These were our go-to scales for years. However, something has changed and they are no longer the same. The new one's measured weight jumps around and the same product weighs different amounts. I recommend choosing a different scale until they go back to their old software or parts or whatever they changed.

Not sure what has happened to this product. We have been using this brand of scale for years. There is now a delay in the read out. Sounds like not a big deal, but when you are pouring things to be weighed, you need it to be instant and accurate. Got one, thought it was broken, so requested a replacement. Got the new one, same thing, Useless for our application.

Love this little scale!! We bought the larger 110 pound one at first, but it was not made for portioning. This one was perfect for smaller portioning. It is sort of hard to clean under the top. Works very well though.

I use this scale on a regular basis in both cooking and in packaging our product for grab and go. I've been very happy with the ease of use and reliability.

Ordered this in January and it stopped working in April. Very frustrating!

It breaks down in 3 months, too slow for reading. So disappointed!!

They break easily, especially the plugs. I've purchased many of these because of their ease of use and price. I also had one that won't register any weight added to it. I ordered several at once to have as back ups. So unfortunately when I really needed one, it didn't work.

When you add weight to the scale slowly it doesn't register it. I slowly added 10g of weight over the course of several seconds and the scale remained at 0. After quickly removing all the weights, the scale now registered negative.

Does a nice job for us

Decent scale. Reads a little slow, and is not that reliable for very small amounts, like under 1/2 lb. Works great at other ranges. We just learned where to use it in our kitchen and dedicated another for the small things.

have bought many of these avaweigh scales all junk. Only last a few months. screen has come loose and the letters are shot.

Precise, light to transport/carry, doesn’t take up much space and pretty accurate when measuring all different weights grams, ounce, and pounds.

This scale sucks compared to my old CJ4000! The size and build are nice so I was excited when it first arrived but now I regret purchasing it. So far I've had two major problems. (1) There is sometimes a multiple second delay between the time I add flour to the bowl and when the scale registers the weight. It slows down the prep considerably; it's also really inconsistent so it's hard to predict when it's going to happen. (2) The scale turns off regularly in the middle of weighing things which is really annoying.

Not bad for the price but doesn't seem to last long before malfuctioning.

Quality Product.

I just opened this scale (as I always keep a few extras on hand because I know they will wear out) and this is the SECOND one that will not register an item. Complete junk. The old ones (we have one we have used for 5 years) we’re good quality- these new ones aren’t worth the cardboard they’re shipped in.

Did not meet my expectations too slow for my needs

I use it for Pizza dough. Does what it's supposed to do and is what is used at the culinary workshop I just returned from.

Simple operation. Great for portion control and has a super easy tare function. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately there is a 5 second delay from when product hits the scale to when it reports the weight, so if your trying to measure for cooking it won’t work as you have to pour, wait, pour, wait. I’ve never seen a scale like this. The engineers should be ashamed of themselves.

This scale was ok, as long as you don't use it to weigh out anything that may cause static. It's VERY static sensitive. I have to weigh out powdered sugar to make my cake frosting. As I'm scooping the powdered sugar into the container on top, the scale will shut off over and over. I'll have to put a piece of cardboard on the top of the scale, covering the display, and hope for the best while bending down to see the display, if I can. Also, if any bags we use that may have the slightest static on them, it shuts off. Very frustrating.

I use this every day and love it. It is small and easy to move around, but big enough to put a bowl on. It is easy to clean which is a plus

Bought for a restaurant that's since closed, and am still using at home to this day. Nice to be able to plug it in in a convenient spot and not worry about batteries, like some scales. Easy to clean, and hasn't started to give me any wonky readings yet. I really see no distinction between this and the much more expensive digital scales I used to use at a small, higher end bakery, except I guess that this is easier to move, and I've used it for 15+ pounds quite often without noticing any additional strain on the scale from getting close to its maximum weight.

Delivered fast and exactly what our kitchen needed! Also it was a great price. I order a lot off of webstaurantstore and they always have good items and deals!

This is an absolute must for portion control. Easy tar for accurate food costing. Grab 2 or 4 so costing is a shared duty in your kitchen. Once you start costing out your food portions, you'll want to cost it all out.

Bought this scale in December 2019 when it was on sale, so I'd have a backup. Didn't start using right away - probably 6 months from date of purchase when another scale pooped out, but when I did it worked fine. It wasn't the 'best' scale I've used, but adequate. Over the weekend, (June 2021) it decided to do it's own thing and start flashing random numbers and letters. It's not working now and the 4-page manual is useless. I'd say I got about a years worth of use out of the scale.
