The mixer is okay for light duty. It is a little loud and runs a little fast on low speed. It is a good purchase if you are on budget, just don't expect it to be like hobart.

This mixer is an excellent product to buy. At our store we use it for making pizza dough, creaming butter and sugar, making frosting and mixing our cake mixes etc. It's a worth while investment and its not as expensive as other brands. I would recommend it to anyone.

Decided to go with this new Avantco mixer instead of buying a used hobart 60qt mixer to save some money. If I could re-do my actions I probably would of gone with the used Hobart mixer. I was having problems with the mixer not working, the warranty team gave me a new mixer which works good but it is probably a matter of time before this one goes out too. Spend the extra money and get yourself a good named brand mixer like Hobart.

This product is good for light use only. We normally use it to make dough for our pie crust and other various desserts. When using the mixer it has been been known to not mix the dough when using the hook. The safety feature is nice for the guard. In order for the mixer to work you have to have the guard fully close in order to start the mixer. Overall we work around the problem with the dough not being mixed up entirely.

Have probably mixed over 1000 dough batches with this unit and it has worked perfectly. No issues with 8 pounds of dough (5 pounds of flour) at 63% hydration.

This is a great mixer that doesn’t break the bank. It’s high power and and can do everything that I am more expensive mixer can do. The high powered motor has no problem mixing those or large batches.

good mixer. good price point. the bowl is a little deep so paddle and whisk don't catch the bottom inch of it. but for doughs, it's a beast. 5 years of doughs and it is still in good shape.

Happy with it so far! This is my first piece of really industrial equipment for my soap business (specifically, for making body whip in quantities greater than five pots at a time), and holy smokes! It's a workhorse, I knew it would be, but what surprised me was how *quiet* the motor is, compared to my little KitchenAid. I love that there are only three speeds: whisk, hook, and paddle - no question for what to use and when to use it. I adore all the manual bits and bobs, the hooks to secure the bowl, the wheel to raise and lower the bowl, the lever to adjust settings, and the green for go, red for stop buttons. It gives me an increased sense of being in control of the machine when I have to interface with it. I like the emergency cutoff that seems to be present: if the front Read More

I would have given this a 5 star but the bowl had a dent when it was delivered. I did not notice this until I actually used it and cleaned the bowl. Although, it did not take away from what the end results. I did a merengue and it was exceptionally done, it came out like cream. The noise level was very low! I love this machine, it is the perfect size, although it is heavy but it was worth the investment.

I bought this mixer in March of 2019. I use it once a week to mix oatmeal cookies. It quit working last week so I took it to the shop thinking it was something simple like a switch. The motor is shot. I've used this so little and of course, it's out of warranty now. I'm so disappointed. I sold a 20 qt Hobart and bought this as it's much smaller. I should have kept the Hobart. :(

Handles large batches of icing and cupcakes and cakes well. I use reverse creaming method with my cakes so my mixer is never tackling a very dry mixture not sure how it would stand up to pizza dough or large amounts of bread but for a small mostly custom bakery its amazing and small enough foot print to share an equipment table with other equipment

Been using this for almost a month now. I was debating between this an a Kitchenaid Professional 8QT. I went with this because of two reasons, larger capacity and a more serious motor. In retrospect it was a bit overkill for my use but at least I don't have to worry about stripped the gears (but do read the instructions if you plan to use it for lots of dough kneading). It comes with a dough hook, whisk attachment, and a paddle attachment. All work pretty well but my only major complaint is that if you are working with small amounts it has a hard time picking up the materials. For example when I am whipping 6 egg whites it won't reach and I have to whisk it by hand first to increase the volume enough. When I double the recipe and do Read More

Not sure how this guy will hold up. I do not make bread or dough with it so it should be fine as it is used in light applications.

Not the best mixer! You get what you paid for..... Good for light mixing but of you start doing heavy duty work on it, well it's gonna break on you, my 1st one broke after only 4 month. got it replaced under warranty , and a great costumer service from webstaurant... I ended up buying another one because of the price and the work I will do with it. If you make dough like bread, pizza, brioche move on to a better brand, (five time the price but will last you for ever.). Thanks

Hi. Just received this mixer. Was checking it out. I am still up in the air about it, but will repost my review once I have had more time and use out of this mixer. The first thing I noticed is a "click" sound after switching between on and off. Is this normal? Has anyone else had this experience.

Do not buy this one. We paid over a decent amount of money for this back in April/May but it got broken after 3 times using it. The axle dropped while it was kneading only 1lb of flour. They said because of residential address so it’s out of 30 day warranty. What a joke!

Not worth the money. No only is the shredder attachment peeling off paint but the front housing hole was not aligned properly and we could use it for several weeks. I tried to trouble shoot with customer service but it felt like more trouble than what it was worth. Several photos and then they wanted video. Like what will the video prove? What happened to taking the customer word?? I get that it's a heavy piece of equipment, but at very least, they could've made it write. The front housing around also had scratch marks and seem that putty or paint was used to cover up, so I'm inclined to think that this mixer was used before or was damaged.Overall, I recommend spending the money for a better quality equipment.

I purchased this mixer not too long ago. It is used for general mixing application that you may imagine. Breads, whisking sauces, making frosting... whatever. It worked fine for awhile, even though the motor seems to struggle at times with things that are not too thick. However, the pin that holds the beater/whisk/hook in place snapped off (a piece of metal, it seems like a manufacture defect to me). When trying to get this fixed, i was told to find a technician in my area....unfortunately, there are no techs in my area so i have to try to figure out how to fix it myself. A bummer for sure on a 900 piece of equipment. Why does avantco stuff always fall apart as soon as the warranty is up? Good luck out there.

This mixer is not suitable for mixing cookies, unless you're okay with mixing only 10lbs of cookie dough at a time (yes, that's how much they told me was safe to use with cookie dough). When I first received my mixer, there was a LOUD clanging sound that was coming from the paddle hitting the side of one of my bowls (this only happened with one of the two bowls I have). I thought the bowl was defective, so Webstaurant sent me a replacement bowl. When it arrived, it did the same thing as the last. VERY loud clanging noise from the paddle hitting the sides of the bowl. It was hitting it so hard in fact, the locking mechanism on the sides of the bowl slowly became unlocked the longer it mixed from the bowl shifting around. I went back and forth with Webstaurant who suggested I added too Read More
We appreciate your review, Savanna. We wish this mixer would have worked out for you. While this mixer can be used for cookie dough, we recommend using a softened butter cookie dough for best results, as cold butter is considerably harder on the machine. We've had a kitchenaid for 10 years and bought this one for the larger capacity. It's been exactly 1 month from the date of receipt of this machine. We are not a bakery, so it gets very little use. Last night the part that holds the hook or paddle just fell out while mixing batter. We were able to put that piece back but nothing is turning on. Luckily we bought the warranty, but don't want a replacement at all are wishing we could just get another brand.
