Good rolling pin but it is a bit on the smaller size thickness wise. Wouldn't advise to buy it to work with more difficult dough like pasta.

Having used a traditional rolling pin, I was anxious to use one of these French Rolling Pins that I kept seeing on the various food channels. I now understand why they are so popular. This rolling pin is a breeze to use. I have never produced so "even" dough. Extremely comfortable, a lot of control and economical too! Thank you for offering such fine products!

For the price that you buy this is a nice rolling pin a little light and thin but good for beginners.

This is a nice French rolling pin. Love to use this when a conventional rolling pin just won't do. I would not recommend putting this through the dishwasher.

The Ateco 20175 20" Maple Wood Tapered French Rolling Pin is a decent quality rolling pin. The wood is decently smooth with only a few rougher spots. I treated the pin with butcher block oil several times and it was good to go.

For the price this rolling pin can't be beat! I figured I would give it a try and I'm very impressed. The wood is sanded well and is nice and smooth. It rolled out my biscuit dough beautifully and evenly. The wood held flour well to keep from sticking to the dough but it was also easy to clean when I was done.

French rolling pins are meant to give lots of fine control and this one works perfectly. Since it doesn't weigh much, it's also easy to maneuver around for any task where you need something solid, such as adding extra pressure to a spatula when smashing smash burgers.

We have used these during our cooking classes. Students have found them easy to use and easy to clean. The only downside is finding a good storage place for the rolling pins.

I like having a French rolling pin, rather than the standard kind with handles, but the quality of this one is only so-so. It splinters a bit, and also isn't actually excatly even, which makes it less reliable for things like rolling pie crust.

This rolling pin allowed for ease of use when rolling out cookie dough. It's much better than the traditional rolling pins with handles. It take a bit to get used to it, but once you do you won't go back!

Our baker's best friend! Once you get the hang of it the freedom and versatility of this rolling pin changed our world. At 20 inches you may be scared off by the size but it is measured end to end while other rolling pins are measured across the rolling surface without measuring the handles, so it is a very manageable size. Though this one is quite thin, you'll never need another rolling pin if you have a tapered French one. The thing about traditional wooden rolling pins is that if the handle falls off, they are nearly impossible to repair. But with these French pins, you never have to worry about that kind of breakage; they're just so sturdy.

These are great quality for the price. I used them as gifts for private classes, but I also use them for my own baking. They take a little bit to "season" but once they've been used a bit they're great!
