I rarely use the word "awesome," but I will say that my new 18" Ateco rolling pin is exactly that — AWESOME! I've just begun a small artisanal pastry operation, and I had been considering getting a dough sheeter — I am 62 years old, and I wasn't sure my shoulders and wrists could cope with the laminating and rolling out so much cold dough on a daily basis (especially beginning at 4:30 AM). My very first use of the rolling pin, rolling out a 2+ kilo clump of croissant dough, made me rethink the necessity of the dough sheeter. Using this well-weighted pin with its comfortable handles and smooth ball-bearings is like having power-steering! In addition to being handy as a measuring device for rolling out a sheet of dough to 18" x 36", it is a beautiful thing to behold! I *LOVE* this rolling pin and likely will give it a name, as we'll be spending plenty of time together.

This is a great quality, heavy and long rolling pin.

This roller is a beast! We use it primarily for rolling out pie crust and sweet roll dough for caramel rolls! It takes a lot of pressure to roll out the sweet dough and these handles hold up to the abuse!

I LOVE my rolling pin. It is so sturdy. I bought it for hand laminating croissant dough and I couldn’t do it without it. The weight helps with laminating so much!

There is nothing better than a maple wood rolling pin. The weight is the perfect balance needed without having to push down too hard on the dough.

This is a fantastic rolling pin! I was in search of a rolling pin replacement for rolling out pizza dough and cookie batter. I needed a rolling pin with good rolling action, good weight, and long enough for a single pass of rolling to span 14 inches. This was the best value for the money I found. This Ateco rolling pin is very well made. It has a sturdy galvanized steel rod that runs through it to the handles, bearings for good action, and the maple roller only has a couple small knots in it that don't impact performance. I weigh about 200 lbs and put a lot of pressure on the handles. They don't give much. Storing it is the only real challenge. With the handles it's about 2 ft long and 4 inches tall. You'll need a pretty deep and tall drawer to stow it away somewhere. Again, a fantastic value. I highly recommend!

This rolling pin is the best! The size and weight are perfect for what I use it for, which is primarily rolling out dough for rolls. The weight and smooth bearings make it effortless to use. It weighs in at about 3.8lbs. Also, the finish is super smooth and cleanup is really easy.

Just got to use this thing in the bakery, and our bakers love it. The rollers are better quality than the cheap ones, so we expect it to last a long time.

Sturdy and durable, but not too heavy. Easy to turn and maneuver because of the internal design and its smooth handles. Its easy to clean without particles getting stuck between the handle and body.

This rolling pin was an eye opener for me. It made me realize just how bad all the previous consumer grade rolling pins I owned were. This one has a nice heft to it, the handles don't bend when you press on them, and the rolling action is smooth as butter thanks to use of ball bearings.

Excellent rolling pin. Very heavy duty. I've used those non-stick rolling pins before and they are not all they are cracked up to be. Give me a good old fashioned wood rolling pin any day.

We use the Ateco Professional Rolling Pin nearly every day and would not be without it. After 10 months of constant use, the bearings are still as great and it looks new. A solid pin with good weight that you can really push down on to roll dry pastry.

Like my fellow reviewee had mentioned, this is an excellent rolling pin, particularly for home use. Especially excellent for making pie crusts, and rolling out biscuits! Can you taste that country cooking?!

This 12" pin is perfect for use in home. I think it is a little small to work in a big bakery but the way I use mine at home, I have loved it from day 1.
