You can easily step your cake baking up by using this cake leveler from Wilton. I've used it on 6" smash cakes and 8" cakes. Watching cake tutorials and hearing bakers claim they use buttercream to level their cake is disappointing when I try and do the same and my decorated cake turns out lopsided. I've also tried leveling a cake using a knife as easy as it sounds, it won't come out as perfect as when you use the leveler. I love this cake leveler. It's easy to use and durable.

I've always had a difficult time when trying to level a cake. The Wilton cake leveler has made this a much easier and less stressful process. It is easy to use and provides professional results.

So although I use this leveler everyday. The first one broke. So I ordered another. The tabs on the aide to adjust are very snug so you have to be very careful when adjusting or it will break.

I love it, I use it everyday I will be getting another one just because of how amazing it is. It has never failed me

Love this leveler! I use it so often i have gone through 2 a year since i open my business. For some reason the wire always comes out of one clip or the other. The handle could be a little more ergonomic but easily taped when it splits. Can't beat the price! And totally worth replacing every 6 months. Wish they made then in a bigger size to cut 12 and 14" cakes

I love this leveler and i keep buying it because it is cheap and gets the job done but only complaint is thw wire keeps on popping. Iv gone through 4 of them in like a couple years. Try not to drop them, try to wash by hand and dry right away

works well except for super dense cakes, I like using it for cutting jellos too. Easy to clean as well and adjusting the height of the line is simple

i saw a video online where they used a leveler so i wanted to get one to try it out. this version from wilton does a good job but if your cake is a little warm or soft, it ill likely get torn a bit if you're not careful. it generally gets the job done though.

This is the perfect addition to my kitchen. It works great to cut the layers in uniform sizes. My only complain is that the cutting wire is a little flimsy.

The size and function of this leveler are both great. My one drawback for this is that the lowest height setting is too high to make a thin enough layer for torting a cake into three slices. If you normally only cut your cakes in half, then this is definitely for you. I would recommend this product.

While I’m happy to have this tool, there’s definitely a learning curve to it. Trying to level out a Genoise sponge cake is a no-go (i still have to use a bread knife), but for a cake that’s softer on the edges or that’s already been cut into a bit, it gets the job done.

Plan on using this a lot for leaving and splitting cake for more layers, I had an older model which was hard to use cause of the handle but this one is easier.

This cake leveler works great for cakes smaller than 11" in diameter. There are small feet on the bottom of the leveler to keep it perpendicular with your counter, and you can easily adjust the height as needed. The braided wire cuts through the cake easily if you use a sawing motion.

This cake leveler is ok. It feels cheap but it works really well when you use it quite a bit. Just be careful because it’s very flimsy.

A cake leveler is so much nicer than trying to cut the top of a cake off by hand, or worse, spending a ton of time on those "kitchen hacks!" techniques with toothpicks and dental floss and lord knows what else. This leveler is great because there are set heights you put the wire at, and both sides are numbered so you can be sure that the wire is at the same height on both sides. The wire is also finely textured so that it cuts through the cake better. For delicate cakes, I prefer to cut halfway, then come from the other side to cut the other half, because as the leveler comes out of the cake it can rip slightly larger crumbs out. It cuts more cleanly as it enters the cake than when it leaves it.

Not particularly sturdy, but it gets the job done. I'd say this is really more for occasional use than for being reliable for every day usage. We'll be replacing it with a solid version instead of the wire.

Works pretty slick. Makes a nice, clean cut through the cake. Could be a little easier to adjust the height but not a concern enough to not try it.
