Just a hot oven. Unfortunately this unit doesn’t leave a smoke ring on any meats. I also had mine quit working after 3 weeks of receiving unit. The company did send me a replacement heating coil. But nothing could be done about the event was missed. Not worth the price or the functionality it produces. ESPECIALLY the price of unit.
